French Open 09 Empty French Open 09

Post by JGK Sun 24 May 2009, 14:21

Ok, so it is the most tedious of Grand slam events but on the happy side, Ana Ivanovic who her first match today.

And Hewitt beat Karolovic in 5 after losing the first 2.

I think Nadal is paying 1.40 to win the tournament - utterly extraordinary in a 7 match tournament.

After surviving losing first 2 sets (4th time in his career) and 55 aces, a WR.

Federer may face Roddick in QF, not that I rate Roddick too much especially when he plays Federer.

Whats heartening for Federer is that he just defeated Nadal on clay in a tournament final (his first title this year on any surface) and thus snapped Nadal's 33-match winning streak on clay.

He's more likely to lose to a no-mark in the second round.

I think i'm right in saying that Federer beat Nadal last year on clay just before the French Open. Reports are that Nadal was tired. I'm not sure what else Federer can do to beat Nadal in top form.

Damn it. Why is this the only Grand Slam not on free-to-air?

I moved house on the weekend and still haven't had Foxtel set up at my new joint.

I thought I'd be fine, telling myself "I'll just go down to the pub to watch the football, there's no worthwhile cricket on for a while." But I clean forgot about the French Open.

Been thinking about upgrading my standard definition IQ arrangement to HD with IQ. Anyone using it? How have you found it?

If Nadal breaks his leg then it could be quite an exciting tournament, otherwise it will just be a procession.

Federer hitting his absolute top form and Nadal having a serious drop in form is the only way it will be even close (assuming Fed gets to the final that is, which isn't certain). Federer beating Nadal at the French would eclipse all of his other records IMO. I don't think he'll do it though.

Yes the British player is still in it. If he goes out then he will immediately become the Scot of course.

Be funny if he wins the Gold at the Comm Games this year.

As a Scot.

Because he might never win a Slam title as a Brit...
