I'd like to see Swann, Napier, Mascarenhas and KP (if fit) in to replace Rashid, Key, Morgan and Shah. I know that sounds a bit light on batting specialists, but batting specialists with a strike rate of 80 or 90 are as much use as a chocolate teapot in this format. May as well gamble on the hitters.
Swann & Dimi will certainly be back.
Shah can score quickly so i'd keep him in - worth the risk on Napier too, nothing to lose...

Well, the fourth player to drop was more difficult, I'd perhaps be tempted to leave out Collingwood if he wasn't captain, not particularly keen on dropping a bowler though Broad perhaps needs a break. The maximum four changes would be the only action that would send out the right message, as long as they are all fit to play.JKLever wrote:beamer wrote:

No. It's just that I don't like and follow T20 and only just give it a look in news for mere statistic curiousity.....

Maschernhas & KP in, Key & Sidebottom out
Pak win toss & bowl - no idea if i'd have wanted us to bat first or chase we are equally as crap at both.
1 Ravi Bopara, 2 Luke Wright, 3 Kevin Pietersen, 4 Owais Shah, 5 Paul
Collingwood (capt), 6 Dimitri Mascarenhas, 7 James Foster (wk), 8 Adil
Rashid, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 Stuart Broad, 11 James Anderson
Rashid keeps his place...

Three players in who could make a positive difference at least, though don't really like the two spinners approach.

Right off to watch this dross, I'd probably take 160-170 again and hope we bowl better.

Par score for teams batting first in T20 internationals at The Oval is 169-6. 2 sides have won and 3 have lost batting first at The Oval.

Shah needs to hit out or get out, scoring at less than a run a ball isn't good enough, we need to keep the momentum up unlike Friday's game.

New 3rd wicket record for England against allcomers in T20s beating Tresco & KP's 51 established in England's inaugural T20 against Oz at The Rosebowl in 2005.

Looks like an innings of two halves as at Lord's against the Dutch - brilliant to begin with but a poor finish. Let's see if it costs them not only the match but further progress in the tournament.

Re: ICC World Twenty20, 2009 - Group B
Good late batting by Dimmi & Foster might just have given England enough. If Pakistan lose it will be due to their poor fielding despite a brilliant catch to dismiss Bopara.

Aye, Pak's pretty miserable fielding v England's pretty clueless progress in the middle.
The survival of the least unfit.

As the Cricinfo commentator says, perhaps 15 runs short. The boundary count was better but gave away far too many dot balls. Should be close but we need to bowl well to defend it.

185 - i'd have taken that after 10 overs.
Betfair have England 1.43 & Pak out to 3.25
If we bowl well I fancy us. But then again, I did t'other night....

Best to stick to the 'England will probably lose no matter what' mantra on this one.
