Wally would be your best bet, if he still has the coal to fire up his steam-driven computer ...

On which issue, with a tip of the cap from TGM himself some way down the page (after multiple postings of the video clip along the way):

Maybe it's time for the Bails to declare its innings?

We've got to what looks like 8 down, the two at the crease have a latter-day Wood-Darling type of understanding of what might constitute a negotiable basis for a run, and the guy waiting in the hutch looks a bit crook... maybe it was just a bad prawn.

Our previous owner-captain has pretty much committed himself to another club, the "Home Comforts", his VC was last seen behind the pavilion "eating French cheese" (or at least that's what he makes out he was up to), and most of the Flamings team have surrendered their wicket, or been caught out either prodding or slogging, stumped with their foot inelegantly up in the air, run out by yards by Father Time, or else comprehensively bowled.

The vituperation and underminings didn't attract fresh talent, but it was a good innings.

Another new nadir of 324 posts set last month.

That's barely 10 per day. Does that represent death?

There's certainly very little life on this forum from what I can see as a newbie. The assumptions for example that Bradboy and I are somehow ghosts from the past isn't exactly going to retain new members very easily. I'm on a football and car forum and not only are they much better they don't revolve around 3 or 4 names who seem to think they own the forum. We're all equal regardless of length of duty. I have over 10000 posts on the car forum and have had only 2 fall outs in over 12 years. This place has a closed shop feel to it and abusive members like Beamer who clearly thinks he's something special when in fact merely another hard done to woke sook. A member for many years here sent me the link to this forum. There's certainly room for a really good forum on cricket. But changes are needed here or it's dead in the water.

And in the latest in the Carry On series, Carry On Chest-thumping, Charles Hawtrey plays Louie the Fly as he goes all snowflakey and Karenish about the taste of Mortein
