You've shacked up with the local butcher?
Anyway, keep the plans coming. We need to discuss the topic of food and easily made snacks.

Re: So, what's the plan?
skully wrote:My plan is the same as previous away Ashes series.
Excitedly wait for the start of each day's coverage (starts at 8.00 pm in Sydney), chew my fingernails to the bone if we are batting, and hope like hell for wickets if we are bowling, scream alternate obscenities and compliments at the TV (depending upon the goings on), watch play through to 12.10 am (Tea) and fall asleep in the armchair before the final session starts.
Wake up and hope like hell the last session went well for Aus.
Repeat 24 more times.
hmmn...skully's plan is my plan...cept i warm up the old crystal set and have lots of paper and pens at the ready to:
1 compose abuse letters to the NSP
2 compose cricketing obit notices for bung, fleas and haddit
3 compose a new version of the Oz victory ditty as we sweep to another glorious 5-0 win

He's that afraid of your paper bag coming off?
Or does he just do you up in butcher's paper . . .

My plan - tried and true. Watch the first hour or so. Retreat to bed - turn on the radio broadcast, assess options.

Re: So, what's the plan?
excellent idea...I do not understand the compulsion to live under one roof!!
Living under the one roof can descend into trouble and an expensive loss of roof!...two old friends of mine have been partners for 30+ years but have never lived under the same roof..they always live in the same suburb a shortish stroll at the most from one another..a very successful relationship

I like this relationship cos he goes away a lot. After being on my own for a long time I couldn't bear the 24/7 stuff. This suits me perfectly. I just wish he'd remember to untie me before he went.

Good times. My earliest memories of an away Ashes was as a barely-in-double-figures kiddy lying beside my old man listening to Alan McGilvray and John Arlott call the 72 Ashes.horace wrote:hehehehe...thought you might...expect you had the tranny under the pillow...as it were
Yeah, I know I tell it every time the English Ashes series comes around.

Re: So, what's the plan?
It is refreshing to see some cricket fans at the periphery getting excited about a tournament. These minor series (Asses? Ashes?) should be encouraged, IMO, as building the essential fabric of the great game that is cricket. Cricket fans everywhere should support the teams and their little competition. I certainly will.
