Momentarily, to lamely try to find some reason to bag Fleas. Failed miserably like the miserable old git that he is, of course.

Well played Fleas and Drunk, 1-249 chasing 435 is way better than I expected.
Oh, and horrie, get that up ya. S.Katich 104 no.
So are we still mortally screwed?
I'm just genuinely inquiring as to how sanguine you are re. the state of play given that you and ZI seem to think we're perennially screwed. I think it was a pretty good recovery. And Punter's played himself back into form after being quite indifferent with the bat over the past few months.
Punter was playing against a genuine team over the past few months.

His shot in the first innings?

The best thing you can say about Hauritz is that he's persistent.
I'm open to suggestions re the second best thing.

I think Jones was equally culpable for such a limp-wristed shot coupled with Collingwood who failed to take the initiative putting his teammates such as KP under pressure to put some runs on the board. Certainly though there was a lot of bluff in Warnie's performance. And the Adelaide capitulation was the series-defining moment (s).

Good Morning everybody.
Day 3 in Cardiff;
Weather: Cloudy with some sun, fresh
Time: 9.56am
Which Anderson will we see this morning? I'm guessing one of Ponting or Katich will get themselves out early.

Anderson has a lot to prove. He fails to fire against Australia and looks bland on when the ball isn't swinging. Broad who's now nursing a calf injury looks equally as ineffective. Luckily Freddie bowled well otherwise the attack would have been as toothless as the one which came out here a few years ago.

Bumble is trying to work it out as we speak.
Last night we had the best conditions for swing bowling. It seemed aloof to Anderson though.
Hopefully he's slept on it and we get spearhead Jimmy back today.

Sidebottom might not have made such a hash of containing the Aussies.

Broad and Anderson both try too many things- Inswinger, outswinger, bouncer, slower ball.......
5 times out of 6 they should just be looking to hit the top of off stump.

Well, Australia may be screwed. Damien Fleming just said he can't see a way back for England in this match. Cue the collapse.

Yeah, I'd say there's a fair chance oine of them will get out before the other.

With rain forecast for both Saturday and Sunday, and the pitch as lifeless as horrie's bedroom, I can't see any way it will be anything but a draw.

Rain in July isn't of monsoon intensity here Trev ... yep, even in Wales ... so don't count on it !
One problem, however, is that, despite being adjacent to the River Taff, the old Sophia Gardens did not drain well nor quickly enough.
So FFS, bring it on RainGod.

No need to play for the draw yet FFS...
We could yet bowl Aus out for 485 and be well in the game still, sometimes teams that have a great start never take full advantage.
Just need to tighten up the bowling and hope for a bit more turn & swing today.
