Athers and Warney were having a chat about whether the 12th man should be wearing an England cap. The conversation then turned to the baggy green at which point Warney said he didn't need to wear a baggy green cap to show he loved playing for Australia.

He said he "toed the line" when Waugh made him wear it in the first session, but didn't see the need for everyone to wear the cap.

I might switch back to Grandstand (which is what we call Test Match Special) when Warney finishes his stint - I've managed to get the pictures and the radio in sync today!

100 partnership, very well played these two. I'll start to get nervous again if they both survive this session...

Come on, chaps - one more wicket and we're through to the tail.

Just. One. More.

Haven't looked like taking one for the last hour, mind...

Only one winner from here, England in tatters. Strauss declared way too early and it's all Botham's fault.

Two Tests in, and five of Australia's top seven already have hundreds in the series.

England, by contrast, have managed just one.

Yes, it's great, isn't it - bet Aus would swap their seven for Strauss's one-and-a-half, and Cookie's near-one century!

England have put all their eggs in one basket here - if they don't break through with the new ball, they might regret just letting the last two hours drift by without particularly attacking.

A loss for England here would be worse than Adelaide 2006.

Dear oh dear, what's going on here? The new ball has been tossed to Billy Doctrove and he can't bend over to catch it, then fumbles it on the ground a couple of times and Jimmy Anderson looks unamused at the possibility of some early scuffing.

I've been saying it will happen for nearly 24 hours now and other than when Ponting left (where I briefly decided that we would win) my decision hasn't changed.

If we don't get one of these with the new ball tonight then they will see Australia home.

Have to admit, I wish I was wrong but (annoyingly) it's starting to look like I was spot on.

Mitchell Johnson is by no means a tailender. Hauritz can hold a bat, and Siddle showed in the first innings that he can bat as well. I've got a bad feeling about this......
