Cheers skulls, I've missed it. Not because England won, just because it's good to lob some comments around, I'd been talking to myself Monday daytime as no-one was off work.
As for this, I didn't expect some Kallis beat-off when Fred's bowling well. It seems that Nidge is trying to convince himself by blithely spitting out some filthy statistics. It's distinct how one is revered as a bowler, by pretty much everyone, media, coaches, players - how one is at the forefront when the word 'bowler' is mentioned and how the other one isn't even in the forefront of his own mind, unless playing Zim or Bang. One is distinctly a challenge to face, the other is a sociopathic-murderous eyed, gap toothed, gazelle-rapist.
Kallis could only dream of the plaudits and superlatives attached to FF, but he doesn't, he just dreams of raping gazelles. That and raping minnow teams.

Cheers taips, I see you're still pushing that lazy so-and-so forward as someone an opposition player thinks about.
Re: England v Australia, 3rd Test, Edgbaston, Jul 30 - Aug 3
Yep, we've been down this road before. At the moment I am more interested in the IPL/Wanderers debacle.

With Punter, Clarke and Haddin due to be rested, it's up to those on the fringe of selection to prove their fitness (think Watson) and worth against Northants. Lee won't play.
Flintoff's figures don't flatter him at all if you look at them in the overall sense but one suspects most captains would have him high up in the queue if they were asked for someone who could bowl a devastating, match-turning performance. Freddie probably takes wickets for other bowlers by virtue of the pressure he exerts on the batsmen by tying them down and creating a sense of fear with the way he can bowl relentessly at 90mph and combine searing fuller balls with the dangerous short ones. His shorter balls invariably hit the mark too.
He actually bowled Kallis last year at Edgbaston with one the corpulent one claims he 'lost' in a window.

Extraordinary to think that a man with 10,000+ test runs, averaging 58, and 200+ test wickets is simply not regarded as any good!
Kallis won't score quickly enough to put the oppo under pressure, and he doesn't get anyone good out in the first innings. I suppose his best chance to influence a match is with his excellent slip catching.

I'd enjoy reading equally vivid descriptions of some of the other characters and players.

FFS Red, if you don't know what you are talking about rather STFU. If you had actually watched the game you might have noticed quite a few of the SA batsmen also lost it in the same spot.

So, I said HE said he 'lost' it in the window. I never disputed the fact that others also claimed likewise.

OK, Ponting is kind to animals, but he puts sprouts up his arse.
Chris Gayle wears dresses.
Owais Shah once beat up a camel, but it did "look at him the wrong way".
Steve Waugh's favourite crisps(I think you call them chips) are Cheese and Onion Walkers. When asked why, he stated "No other chip manufacturer can make the Onion flavour taste as good".

Oh, I dunno.... his bowling for the most part is piss and shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Andrew Flintoff's.
In that regard, he's shit.

Totally: Flintoff shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Kallis, batting-wise.

As slips fielders, they're pretty even, with Kallis budging it.

The wicket will be fine. If push comes to shove, they can prepare it under a marquee, can't they?
