And the way North's carrying on you think we can survive a session?

Yup, you get the feeling we've always just a little bit too much to do.
59-4 with what, 68 overs remaining.

North could get out for 12 for all I care. We can't bowl the tail out, that's our problem. It's doubtful we can chase 150. Maybe with KP in the team, or the promotion of Flintoff up the order. Both is as unrealistic as the other.

Is that the max? I thought it was the min? No extra half hour with a result impending?

68 overs are all that will be allowed after physios, drinks, and new protectors are brought out to the middle.Brass Monkey wrote:JKLever wrote:Brass Monkey wrote:Not hard to survive this Test. Aus have simply to survive a session.

I still think England can nick this.
Neither Clarke nor North look at ease, especially North.
Would like to see more aggressive fields set by Strausser though.
Swannee bowling with bat-pads on either side, likewise one for the quicks.
Too much dependency on the Aussies driving at the ball .... short extra cover wasted with 4 or 5 'leaves' every over.

We know the tail like a biff, so if they take the next session out of the game adding another ton then we'll be faced with 150 in 30ish overs. It's quite possible we'll be 5 down for 70 and looking all at sea.
Shit, it sounds like a woof, but I know what I mean...
I know exactly what you mean I had a cheeky £2 on aus at 100-1 for that very scenario!

England can 'nick this'? FFS, the way Australia's batsmen have performed in the past two matches, we'll be lucky to make drinks after lunch, and then MJ will bowl...

I think England has this wrapped up unless our bowlers start batting.
Either that or apparently someone's trying to blow up the ground.

I farking hope so with North going hunting for yorkers ten yards outside off stump.
It's always possible in this country. Weather forecasts are somewhere to the left of your horoscope over here.
Yeah I keep forgetting the place is about as wide as a stock route.
Surrounded by the sea, with numerous weather patterns colliding on top of us. In meteorological circles, Britain is notoriously hard to forecast for because there's so much going on around us.

I know. Be thankful your 'met' doesn't have Big Merv forcasting.
"Our batsmen are on top", FFS! He must have been watching another game. Lacrosse probably.

Draw is 1.2
You can still look forward to some Collingwood & Bopara pie after Tea. Who fancies a hundred?

I can't really see those mighty shot-players Cook, Bops and Shermo getting us over the line, though. The might try promoting Prior and Fred. It's a draw, more than likely.

A 199 now would do Australia good, though.

Finally England sees sense. Is Straus on a payroll somewhere?
