What would you rather?
Which Test Nation would you rather dominate?
From a test cricket perspective.

Well, I would like to dominate everywhere, and seeing as this is a "Select Many" type poll I voted for them all.... I'd be shocked if anyone voted any different.

If Dello has a conscience he'll change this to a one choice poll.

As is Ian Bell with his trusty strap-on.
Re: Which Test Nation would you rather dominate?
So securing the Sub-continent is not as important as Conquering the almighty Aussies?
The Sub-continent is made up of four Test Nations (Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh) that is in terms of Test Cricket. Afghanistan will join in the next 5-10 years.
Wouldn't it be a thrill to just say, that I beat India....it was easy....

The question was "Which Test Nation or Nations would you like to dominate", not "Which Test Nation would you RATHER dominate".DJ_Smerk wrote:So securing the Sub-continent is not as important as Conquering the almighty Aussies?

Of course I'd rather win against Australia than anywhere else. Winning in the sub-continent would be great, but winning in Australia is a completely different animal.

Thinking back, I was pretty ecstatic with our wins in SL and Pak in 2001 - not quite as much as against Aus, but not far off. I was reasonably pleased with our draw in India as well.

Coming out of the closet as Johan Botha?
Re: Which Test Nation would you rather dominate?
Pleased with the draw Danny, disgusted with the return effort a few years later, bar Pietersen's excellent 144.
Sri Lanka was a disaster in 2007, as was Pakistan in 2005.

Reasonably pleased, Smerk. We should've slotted them.
Sri Lanka 0 f*cking 6 was a disaster. The 2nd time we'd served up a Murali special, after getting 6 or 7 Murali specials abroad. Totally criminal, in this modern age, IMO.
Pak 05, less so. Shabbir chucked them to a marginal win. Moral victory to us
Re: Which Test Nation would you rather dominate?
I'm reminded of Dello's picture of Batty in a leather collar for some reason.

Aye, when England went on a slog sweep mission during the 2nd or 3rd test, it was utter sh!te. Really wanted Tresco to make that double century though....sigh.

Yeah, those series are far from meaingless and winning against anyone in the sub-continent bar the Bangles would be a great achievement, maybe even more difficult than beating Australia will be in the coming years but I'd still always take an ashes win over any other win.Brass Monkey wrote:Thinking back, I was pretty ecstatic with our wins in SL and Pak in 2001 - not quite as much as against Aus, but not far off. Re: Which Test Nation would you rather dominate?
I still think that winning a rubber in India, SA and Aus would still be a high on achievements list for any side. India has lost only 3 series at home last 2 decades. Aus just 1. SA has perhaps lost all of their home rubbers to Aus?

i am trying to remember the 3rd series we lost in the last 20 years. unless you mean the pak tour in 1999, which ended 1-1 and then we lost the first test of the asian test championship
