Re: England v Australia, 2nd ODI, Lords Sep 6th
Seems like it's almost an unwritten rule of one-day cricket for a number of teams that the keeper has to open the batting...

Mitch Johnson's 43* is the highest by an Australian No.8. in an ODI in England and the second highest for any No.8 at Lord's only beaten by Alan Knott's 50 v. Oz in the very first official ODI at Lord's in August 1972. However it is only the 9th highest overall by an Australian No.8, some way behind Trevor Laughlin's 74 at the SCG, also v.England, in December 1979.

Oh the shame, getting bowled out by Shane TAYPOCSON.
Prior is never a number 3, an excellent 6/7 but not in a month of JAMODIS is he a 3.

Prior really hasn't shown his worth in the one-day game, averaging under 25 which is very poor, strange as he's an attacking batsman but maybe it's just his range of shots is more suited to Test cricket?

It's puzzling why Prior has such a poor record at all levels of one day cricket.

So, the walking run-out that is Owais Shah comes to the crease. What's the odds he gets rid of his captain and England's chances quickly follow...

C'mon Lads. Get a bit of perspective, do we really GAF if we lose some JAMODI series?

Rightly put Ange, Bangladesh toiling to 107 all out is awful, England are 91 for 3. FFS, Trev would swear we're 5 down with Hauritz turning the ball square.

Inzy-ul-Shah does it again... although Colly seemed to be quite a bit at fault for that one to be fair.

Beamer had it on the button and I don't think you're even part of the England setup are you Beam?
Shah has a problem, a big one and it needs to be sorted. You just can't keep getting run-out at International Level.

Unbelievable. No one trusts Shah, and Shah doesn't trust anyone. It's a serious problem.

No, but like most here I think I could pick a better England side than they do...DJ_Smerk wrote:Beamer had it on the button and I don't think you're even part of the England setup are you Beam?
Regarding my last comment I take that back, it was Shah's fault, the call may have been marginal but it was his hesitation that made it a guaranteed wicket.

That's exactly what it is. He's not the quickest between the wickets, but he's not Ranatunga slow - he just has no faith in anyone else's call.
Perhaps England need to do some trust exercises with Ace - the old "close your eyes and lean back and we'll all catch you".
Although, knowing Shah, he'd probably lean the wrong way, land on his head and be emotionally scarred for life...

Swann is a better batsman than Bresnan so I don't know why Bresnan is batting higher.
