And disconcerting because the Jim Carrey character was creepily like what I am in 'real life'.
One of my favourite films, ever.

Christ I haven't been to the movies since Xmas. Invictus I think. Might go this weekend when I'm in Cairns with qmyjr. Any Dad's out there got any suggestions for a film for a reasonably mature ten year old and a fifty year old who never grew up.

Hmmmnn! Messy, violent shallow and tasteless. That boat's already sailed after his fifteen year old cousin downloaded "Inglorious Bastards" and they watched it behind my back.

You should introduce him to the forum then

Well I've decided on "Jackass" so introducing him to the forum would seem to be an obvious progression from that.

Apparently Machete - a Mexican gore fest on at the moment is a bit of a grin.

My quote in another post actually came from a critic of the film. "Violent, messy, shallow and tasteless".

Machete IMO is a successful deliberate attempt at making a film so bad, you can't help but really enjoy it.
And it's got Jessica Alba naked. And Lindsay Lohan. And another seriously pretty girl at the beginning.

I watched Social Network yesterday. Fair is the best I can give it.

Apparently it was shot with her in her underwear and the fun bits were CGIed in later.
I don't know whether to feel cheated or to think aint technology grouse

Re: Films you've watched recently.
Machete is a must-see for me too as I am a big fan of the aforementioned Ms Alba. I last saw her getting her face beaten to a bloody pulp in The Killer Inside Me so I am pleased she appears to have made a full recovery. Interesting that QT has got her to drop the "no nudity" clause for which she was famed in Hollywood for the first time since the rather dire, but nonetheless watchable due to Ms Alba's semi-constant deshabille playing a Malayan native girl, 2003 flick The Sleeping Dictionary. Marriage and motherhood seems to have made her screen persona more, rather than less, uninhibited.

O, maybe she still has a "no nudity" clause in her contract then after all and QT has just found another way to get round it. Is LL still in it? I thought she dropped out or was that the Linda Lovelace film?

Looks quite good although I notice the presence of Jeff *Lawnmower Man" Fahey who has appeared in more dire films than even Sir Michael Caine:

For all JA fans her dance set in the 2005 Sin City, also partially directed by Robert Rodriguez, director of Machete although, reportedly, Ms Alba became almost anorexic to get the part. The waitress at the beginning is the sadly-departed Brittany Murphy:

If it helps, Mark Zuckerberg, the guy who invented facebook, ends the film rich but friendless.
Written by Aaron Sorkin of West Wing fame. Give it a whirl.

True Grit. Immense. One of their finest.
Just wish Bridges had spoken a tiny bit more clearly so i could have caught everything he said because the dialogue, like in most Coen films, is an absolute joy to listen to.

Aye, wanted to see True Grit, probably will go next Thursday...
Watched 'The Fighter', I was sceptical but it turned out to be really quite good, especially for a fight fan. The bint loved it too though, so must be an all-round good 'un.
