CT Exit Fallout - Pak captain -Coach sacked by PCB!
Pak captain, coach sacked over fixing allegations! - Link!
Clouds of match fixing stormed over Pakistan cricket as captain Younis Khan and coach Intikhab Alam were sacked by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) following reports that the semifinal match of the Champions Trophy, which they lost to New Zealand by five wickets, was fixed.
Both the mainstays of the Pakistan cricket team were also said to have fixed the stage one match against Australia, throwing it away in the final overs. The loss incidentally pushed India out of the tournament.
Younis Khan had earlier said the memory of the dropped catch that cost his side a place in the Champions Trophy final would haunt him for the rest of his career. He had dropped a sitter offered by Grant Elliot, who went on to win the match for New Zealand with a 75-run knock.

One would have thought the team members would have been sacked for just being crap?

This actually pisses me off.
I have dropped any number of catches (some of them sitters) and haven't been paid a cent.

There is no other news source save the link in the opening post. I hope this isn't really true.

Gorsh. Mud does stick, doesn't it?
England should be done for match-fixing their first two matches of the tournament.

Jesus!
The usual OTT crap from the PCB ... they don't burn effigies in Pakistan ... they just crucify whoever is at hand ...
Was wondering ... did Younis ask Elliot to lob him the catch just so that he could drop it, thus making himself inwardly vomit at his cock-up and then, poor bugger, shaking his head in torment as much as 5 or 6 overs after the drop, as he re-lived the nightmare moment ... knowing full well that that was the defining moment?
FFS.

Don't think this is true.
The match fixing allegations by some Pakistani parliamentarian is correct but no one has been sacked. The Indian media sources have mis-translated the word "Talab" to mean as sacked instead of summoned or so someone tells me.

these idiots are going to make YK resign and then the team is going to loyally suck again.....
PAK cricket was in deep $hit after the 3/3 attacks and its mainly due to YK that they won the T20 WC and now made it to the semis of CT.
Some people are never happy

over the years PAK have been called a really talented team but i don't think they are THAT talented that they would fix the game and still only lose on the LAST ball to the eventual champions...

Re: CT Exit Fallout - Pak captain -Coach sacked by PCB!
I was wondering why Inthikhab Alam puts up with so much crap? How many times has he been now 'appointed' acting coach after some serious sh!t and then dropped after a series or two? Seems like it's been happening quite regularly. At least as regularly as the sight of Suresh Raina's knees wobbling on seeing a short pitched delivery rising up a lively track.
It's probably been a dozen times now he has been shafted inand out depending on who is dictator of Pak cricket of the day and always the man is shown the door after some wild goose match fixing scandal.
The man should show some balls and just tell PCB to fark off and not evercoach Pak team again.....

I am wondering still why isn't this being reported elsewhere. Some media people are totally irresponsible.....

I see they've changed the headline to "Younis MAY face axe over match fixing reports". But then the story itself still says that they HAVE been sacked. What shitty journalism.
