What is it with these Kiwis and being unable to get on with their coaches? Wasn't Mark Greatbatch ousted because him and Vettori didn't get on?

To make matters worse, Taylor has made himself unavailable for the South Africa tour in protest. What a debacle.

The confirmation of the change came at a press conference in Auckland on Friday morning where David White, the New Zealand Cricket CEO, said that Brendon McCullum would become captain in all three formats after Taylor turned down an offer to retain the Test leadership and hand the limited-overs sides to McCullum.

Seems like Taylor said "I'll captain all the sides or you can go fark yourself" and then spat the dummy. Only in Snoozetown.

And fair enough, really. Taylor plays in all three formats, so the only reason they would be giving McCullum the ODI captaincy would be as an audition to take over the test side from Taylor. That would be a recipe for tension.

what a debacle

Not a great week for Snoozie sport, first the rugby now this... they struggle to find a handful of Test quality batsmen, so can't afford to lose one of the few they have.

I still think, like last time we toured there, their attack will make it tougher for England than we expect - but internal disputes certainly won't help their cause.

So basically it looks like Ross Taylor wont play again until Mike Hesson is removed as Coach. And this after John Wright left because he didn't get on with John Buchanan and they chose Buchanan instead.

Could the Kiwis be any more stupid? Oh yeah, I forgot that their second best batsman Jesse Ryder is pissed off with them and has made himself unavailable for selection as well.

Jesse Ryder was more likely pissed than pissed off.

He was both. And he's fat. But he's a good batsman. The Kiwis really can't afford to be without him and Taylor.

Ryder isn't available by the selectors' choice to get over his drinking AFAIK.

I don't t tink the two cases are comparable.

You knew NZ cricket was f*cked as soon as such a respected Coach as John Wright felt he had no choice but to resign. Seems like they're rotten (incompetent) to the core.
