Re: India v Australia, 6th ODI, Guwahati, Nov 8
Excellent effort by a much understrength team. Nice that a few new boys got a chance to step up and have done OK.

BTW, how nicely set up was that track for the spinners . . . guess they didn't plan on collapsing to Dougy and Mitch . . .

Now, now taccy. You'll be accused of racism. Or common sense, not something I normally equate with you.

PMSL. Bubbles, Midge and Watto took 9 wickets between them on a dusty bunsen.tac wrote:BTW, how nicely set up was that track for the spinners . . . guess they didn't plan on collapsing to Dougy and Mitch . . .

Goodness me the Indians are poor (at cricket, not in the sense that the majority of their population are living in poverty). They're meant to be a bullwark against Aussie cricketing domination and they're about as useful as the French.

I find it amazing that in a population of 1 billion, this current XI is the best that BanIndia can scratch up. Nehra, Kumar, Patel, Jadeja and Raina would be flat out getting a game in Sydney Grade cricket.

Well how much of that 1 billion have the cricketing facilities available to them that your average Australian has?

skull, on the basis of the recent games in Pomgolia, Saffieland and Banindia, what would be our best ODI team?
I'm thinking something like
Marsh
Watto
Punter
Clarke
White/Ferguson
Huss
Paine/Haddo
Midge
Lee
Hauritz
Siddle/Bubbles/Ferny

Aye. Potentially the new Benaud, but gives away bowling, FFS. With the mighty TGM a near-neighbour, shirley he can get some tips to become a half decent leggie.

You know, Watson opening reminds me alot of Hayden...limited skill, good eye, on modern flat decks will make alot of runs.

Midge loved it. The early morning juice helped his swing. Knocked over both Seaweed and the Gambler with lovely swinging deliveries.
