India's 726-9d is the 14th highest overall Test innings and the highest ever by India beating their 705-7d v. Australia at the SCG in January 2004. It is the second highest total ever scored against Sri Lanka only beaten by Pakistan's 765-6d at Karachi in February of this year. It is also the second highest total any Test side has achieved in India only beaten by Sri Lanka's 760-7d at Ahmedabad in the 1st Test of this series last month.
