A scheduled three Tests against world No.2 South Africa has been cancelled, denying all cricket supporters of a major series that would have had significant impact on the rankings. Instead, the Proteas will play five one-dayers.
Ban India.
This is just awful and a real spit in the face for Test cricket fans in India. Call me melodramatic, but India have really shot themselves in the foot, in attempting to stay top of the Test rankings..

Really?but India have really shot themselves in the foot, in attempting to stay top of the Test rankings..
Its other way round, actually. Had they played in this series the'd have had a better chance of staying at top instead by not playing this series.

It's almost certainly RD's last home test. Possible SRT's too because he'll be 38 next time they play at home.

So while the likes of Dravid, Laxman and SRT ride into their retirements for want of tests for 2 years, the likes of Kohlis, Uthappas, Pathans, Yuvrajs, Rainas etc. get to show their 'stuff' to the 'viewing public' and make obscene amounts of money for ruining cricket on a whole?
Did I miss something?

Shit nearly 1 and half years to wait to see the likes of SRT, Laxman and Dravid score test runs. It's criminal denying such greats more test games and chances of setting new banchmarks at the sheer sunset of their legendary careers.....

This series showed how much overrated SL are.
I'd place them at best at no.5 in rankings.

Well, one has to admit its been one long journey. Although, how long it'll last is anybody's guess. Playing against BD isn't going to bring any brownie points. SA at home would have anchored it. Nonetheless, congratulations India.

Thanks Vikas. I've settled in Goa permanently now. Hey, and being able to watch cricket all day long without having to pay through your nose is an added advantage. Neo is full of it, though. Bloody non-stop commercials! Guess that's the flip side of the coin.

And the annoying anchor. Can't string together a sentence without using the word 'particular'.mirchy wrote:

Sure I don't have DTH and have the old wire service, but hey, a free connection is a free connection worth at least Rs. 4,000 annual subscription totally free! And that includes all the pay channels too. All of them available in India.....

Yep. How annoying is the use of 'particular' in every sentence he utters? And the annoying anchor. Can't string together a sentence without using the word 'particular'.
For heaven's sake, stop using this or else I'll complain to Harish Thawani.
PS: Apart from this, he is not bad.
