Re: Super 14 Rugby 2010
The players break contracts willy-nilly
Wasn't aware of that one. It surprises me that old money and power haven't sorted it.
Here, John O'Neil would have 'em in the Supreme Court before they arrived in their new city. They'd never pick up anothjer top up cent from the ARU.

The Sharks announced the signing of Springbok Sevens and, former, Cheetahs backline player Lionel Mapoe late on Thursday.
The rumours , which started late on Wednesday, that Mapoe was in Durban and had signed for the Sharks despite the Cheetahs believing that they had a valid contract with Mapoe until October 2011 were confirmed on Thursday when the Sharks sent out an official press release announcing his capture.
Sharks press release
"Sharks CEO, Brian van Zyl, has confirmed that The Sharks have signed up Cheetah’s winger Lionel Mapoe. Following a contractual dispute Lionel terminated his contract with
the Free State Cheetahs on the 9th March 2010 and has requested a clearance certificate from them. He has in the meantime concluded a 2 ½ year contract with The Sharks and
will start training with the squad next week."
The Cheetahs have yet to make an official complaint nor agree to the release of Mapoe who joins the likes of Jaque Fourie, Willem Alberts, Louis Ludik and JP Joubert who have left their unions while their employers still thought they had contracts with the players.

Without law there is chaos. That's a slippery pole.

aye to that too. I'd love to believe the japies are peaking a touch early but I'm reserving judgement. In spite of ugly manner in which the nation is eating itself their rugby continues to prosper. Good on 'em.
