The One wrote:i guess you will find every match boring if you think batsmen score runs only due to poor bowling or bowlers take wickets due to poor batting. its only when you appreciate that a batsman has played well or a bowler had a great spell that you can enjoy a match
south africa went from 218-1 to 296 a/o. india was 82-2 at the start and then lost 3 for 5 runs last evening. just 46 runs ahead with a proper batsman and a wicket-keeper batsman left and 3 days to go. terribly boring
not to mention sessions of play with the best new ball attack against the best batsmen currently playing world cricket. not engrossing at all
That's subjective. When there is actually some assistance in the pitch Steyn and Morkel can be a formidable pairing but Steyn can also travel on flat pitches. India has batted largely when the pitch has been its best for batting, it's not as if they've had to contend with swing, seam and unplayable bounce. It will be interesting to see this pair bowling to Sehwag on SA pitches though, it might be more a contest between bat and ball. India started today off with two specialist batsmen at the crease, it's not as if they were down to the tailenders. SA's poor fielding has certainly blown out the margins between the teams though. Certainly had Sehwag been taken at 47, as he should have been, it would have probably been more of a contest.

So this was the first time any batsman was dropped in tests.Certainly had Sehwag been taken at 47, as he should have been, it would have probably been more of a contest.

So looks like one of those rare occasions where a side losing by an innings turns around their performance to extract revenge with an innings win.

You'd be better off convincing Horrie about the benefits of the Caste system and Indian society generally than trying to discuss cricket logic with she who has nice tits

Underlines my point that it's a very one-sided series in terms of the individual tests. As a neutral observer we hoped for a competitive one i.e. both tests being closely contested. And to add to SA's woes Morkel has been suffering from flu.

VVS becomes 2nd Indian bat to score 1000 test runs at a venue. Sunny did this at 2 venues (Wankhede and MAC)
