Good important innings for his team.
100 for everyone who bats for India on this road it seems, anyone experienced anyway. With wickets usually tumbling late they might as well put SA out of its misery and knock them over now. Sooky was delighted to win the toss to avoid batting last.
Oh wait...
And it must be said that his decision to play has been costly for his team with his inability to get into double figures again and his forcing a reshuffle of the team's fielding lineup which was already unbalanced due to Boucher's injury.

Lead is 300 now.
Only the 2nd time in their test history that 4 100s have been scored in the same innings.

Do you think when so many score tons it kind of devalues them?

Why would it? Every ton has contrasting styles attached to them.Red wrote:SG wrote:Lead is 300 now.

Sehwag's innings was savagery at its best while Tendulkar and VVS's were so pleasing to eye, purists' delight. Dhoni's one is a combination of workmanlike and some attacking strokeplay.

Skully,
this makes three partnerships of 200 or more in the one test. How common is this?

One might argue that Sehwag set the tone and the other two swum in his slipstream. Certainly he had it harder with fresher bowlers and some semblance of scoreboard pressure.

But thats been always the case with any batting side.
Middle order batsmen often swim on the tide of their openers' show against the new ball bowlers. Thats what the job of an opening batsman.

I just want Zaheer and Ishant to steam in and bowl with their full intensity for whatever number of overs that would be possible till stumps.

I reckon it must be that they're eternal shitbags. As soon as 'number 1' gets in the forefront, they crumble like puff pastry.
p.s. Harris is a massive gash-merchant.
