"Strolled" might be overstating how hard she was trying.

Black Caviar goes for 18 out of 18 today. First time she has raced over 1400m and it is a group 1 race.
Latest I saw was that she was paying 1.04.

Surely she will do well to see off Southern Speed over that distance ...

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
Looks like she'll go around next week in the Futurity as well. Would be pretty impressive to win at Group 1 at 1400m one week and then at 1000m in one of the world's leading sprint races the next.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
But there's nothing within a bull's roar of her talent in her age group, is there? And being a baby, she'll get nowt on her back compared to older horses in said Futurity, no?

No, she's a 5 year old. At the prime of her life in theory.
By the way, I am talking out of my arse. I meant the Lightning Stakes over 1000m. The Futurity is the following week over 1400m again.

You've been listening to too much Glen Boss.
And mares don't have a great record in the Cox.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
GFY I wouldn't listen to anything that farktard said - I hate him more than I hate Craig Williams (and that's alot)
She can't be judged by the standards of normal mares. I wouldn't be surprised by her doing anything Moody trained her for. It's all a moot point because he'll never risk it when she can just go out and smash the sprinters so easily

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
I'd back her to win maybe up to 1600m. But past that - she'd need to be comletely re-educated, completely different training regime. And I just don't think she has the build to take on a 2040m sprint.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
yeah, the speed they run the CP at would be against her and that big Serena Williams arrse would be a load to drag around - but she just relaxes and does things so eaily I wouldn't be prepared to say she couldn't
