They worked out her sectionals in m/s and they looked impressive. What allows her to power down without slowing down much. Keeping them up over that distance would be pretty magical.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
I see Moody wants a shot now.
Black Caviar's trainer Peter Moody has indicated he wants to be given the opportunity to prepare the world's best sprinter for a Cox Plate.
The mare won her 18th race at Caulfield on Saturday when she stepped up to 1400 metres for the first time in the C.F.Orr Stakes and annihilated a good field which included Caulfield Cup-winner, Southern Speed.
Black Caviar will now race in Saturday's Lightning Stakes at Flemington (1000 metres) before a likely start in the Futurity Stakes over 1400 metres at Caulfield the following week.
But Moody, speaking to 3AW's Peter Maher on Monday afternoon, said if Black Caviar could be prepared for a Cox Plate.
He all but ruled out a tilt at Australia's weight-for-age championship this year given Black Caviar's planned trips to Dubai and England, but sounded enthused when asked about it by Maher.
Moody said he wouldn't be drawn on whether Black Caviar could win a Cox Plate, but said "I'd be brave enough to have a go at it if the owners asked me to go that way".
"The concern would not be the Cox Plate itself or the 2,000-metre trip. The concern would be whether her body could handle the training required for such a race," Moody told 3AW.
If Black Caviar was set for a Cox Plate in 2012 (unlikely) or 2013 (some chance), it would see one of the biggest build-ups to a race in Australia equine history.
If a potentially undefeated Black Caviar stepped up the 2000 metres of the Cox Plate having never been tried at the trip, it would create hype not only Australia-wide, but also internationally.
Moody has urged racing fans and those curious to get to Flemington or Caulfield for either or both of Black Caviar's next two starts.
"She puts on one helluva show this big girl," he said.

Re: The Horse Racing Thread
But this
FORMER leading jockey Greg Childs, who won two Cox Plates on Sunline, has spoken out against suggestions trainer Peter Moody should abort the English mission and set Black Caviar for the weight-for-age championship of Australasia.
Glen Boss, who has won Cox Plates on Makybe Diva and So You Think, told the champion mare's jockey Luke Nolen that she would win the Cox Plate if she was set for the race.
Childs, who also rode four placegetters in the race, was reluctant to speak about Black Caviar, having had no association with her, but recommended connections play to her strengths.
"Peter Moody has placed her beautifully up to now and I don't want to be seen to be second-guessing him, but I doubt a horse with her brilliance could run the toughest 2040m in Australasia," Childs said.
"It is very rare to find a horse with such a brilliant turn of foot over a short distance able to stretch out to a longer journey."
...Childs gave a couple of examples of sprinters that became vulnerable when subjected to assignments outside 1600m.
"There have been some notable failures like the New Zealand three-year-old Our Maizcay," Childs said.
"He beat Octagonal by more than three lengths in the 1995 Caulfield Guineas, but he ran 23 lengths last in the Cox Plate."
Childs, who now agists horses on his property at Greenvale near Melbourne's International Airport, drew a line through the deeds of Typhoon Tracy, trained by Moody and a multiple Group I winner.
"Peter tried stretching a very classy mare named Typhoon Tracy out beyond a mile in recent seasons and she ran below her best," Childs said.
"She got beaten in the Underwood Stakes over 1800m and the Turnbull Stakes over 2000m."
Sunline had the capacity to win from 1200m to 2040m, but Childs said her strength was somewhere in the middle. Black Caviar appears to be best from 1000m to 1400m in Childs's opinion.
"Sunline was at her best between 1400m and 1600m, the truth be known," he said.
"She wasn't a stand-out over short distances, nor was she at 2000m. Her trainer, Trevor McKee, could freshen her to get away with 1200m, but away from Moonee Valley, where she used the turns to her advantage to skip away when dictating terms, she was a risk over 2000m.
"She got caught by Fairway in a Turnbull Stakes at Flemington and also got beaten in the Hong Kong International Cup," Childs said.
"If Black Caviar and Sunline met in a 2040m race around Moonee Valley, I'd be having my money on Sunline. The times would be quicker than the other day when she had every chance to run out the 1400m in the Orr."
Childs was critical of the tactical displays offered by most jockeys in Saturday's contest. He said they presented Black Caviar with the race instead of taking the race up to her.
"The opposition rode very poorly, probably with the exception of Craig Williams on the runner-up Southern Speed."

She isn't.
Poor Hay List. Absolutely super horse who looks like being one of racing history's asterisks.

BTW I thought the $1.20 tatts paid was pretty good odds - even if she was coming back from 1400 to 1000.

She paid 1.2 on Tatts last week as well. They are doing something strange like not taking out the commission. Must be peeing off the corporates who pay best tote no end.

Could be stopping for some shopping in Dubai on the way.
The owners might race her this week but Dubai and Ascot are certainly on the menu.

Apparently* BC ran a 200m sectional of sub 10s on the weekend. That can't be too common.

I apologise for being droll. I thought you meant "what is she going to England for" as in "what is the point in taking her" and there is no answer (other than just showing off)

I guess the prize money for a potential 1 2 might cover the cost of flying them over and back and all the other costs. I guess.

Don't why he would go all the way to England to come second to her again

Well then. Showing off it is. Are races mainly on turf in Aus? If so, not. Like there's a point to prove on a different surface. Guess they just want to put her up against whatever Europe has to offer. Then retire her, I hope.
