Tendulkar completes 18 yrs in int'l cricket

On 15-Nov-1989 he played his first ever int'l game against Pak in Karachi's National Stadium.

His yesterday's innings of 102-ball 97 showed that he can still pose threat to very good and pacy bowlers.

He's still a choker who finds it difficult to complete hundreds in the short version of the game.

He said Tendulkar can't play bowlers who bowl at 90mph.

Well we all saw both Shoaib and Gul have consistently bowled at 90+ mph throughout this series and Tendulkar has scored 99, 28 and 97 since then.

But but doesn't he have a problem with the short ball? And what about the really fast bowlers? And the inswingers? Why does he always play for his records? So selfish. What has he done for Indian cricket in these 18 years? Nothing.

All I can say that so-called cricket experts who still question his commitment to the team might just be living in fool's paradise.

PS: I now expect Josh to come and say it was a belter of a track and Pak bowlers were hapless.

I never trusted Tendy's game. When first I saw him playing way back when, I told my mates, I did, here's a lad who'll never make it.

And he never did.

Best year- 1998

Worst year- 2005

Best innings- 155 v Australia at Chennai(?) 1998


Worst innings- Any of the innings he played against England in early 2006

Best shots- Back foot drive through cover, and the on drive.

Worst shots- Any shot he plays when in the 90's.


Based on how he played yesterday, I think he has another 2 years left in him.

i would say 2011 world cup

worst year - 2003 without a doubt (talking tests)

and his best innings for me has been 136 vs pak in 1999. shame the team could only manage 6 runs in that innings without him at the crease

He's a flat track bully who got lucky.

Gul's fastest delivery has been 149kmph which is about 92-93 miles, not once but at least thrice.

145-147kmph has been common from him!
