This has to be the unluckiest way to get out.

It's a pity if the selectors do not use the Lord's Test to bring in a debutant batsman such as Hildreth in place of Cook with Trott opening instead.

So Cook failed again. He is the Ollie North of the English side.

Oh f**k ... and triple f**k ...
There's a massive black hole ahead - and agree with Boycs ... in taking just 2 openers to Oz, one of whom is not fit right now to open for a club side, let alone England in Oz... f**king suicidal.
But no - in their wisdom Dusty and Co (and Flower) retain the f**king vice captain who's finding ways to get out so much easier than scoring a run these days ...

Why didn't Strauss walk on such a clear edge?

The word "walk" is no longer recognized nor accepted in the modern game as the trend now is to believe that unpires f**k up every decision....

He was smiling when the decision came which basically means that he knew he knicked it.

Schofield's the 12th man. Must be in the running as 2nd spinner this winter.

Only in the decision to retain Cook, skulls ... and Dusty & Co's strange decision to avoid blooding a 3rd opener ...
I sense Goochie's chav influence on the selectors here ...

I still see batsmen happy to move towards the pavilion on an obvious edge.

Just as a matter of interest, is Strauss escaping scutiny because of Cook's poor form? His second innings fifty during the last test was riddled with errors and he gave three chances. His form's been hardly stellar after a disappointing series in SA.

They might "move" ... but they certainly don't intentionally 'walk' ... big diffo.
The game has changed ... accept it.... batsmen will wait for, and then perhaps challenge a decision ...bowlers will appeal for an lbw knowing it feathered the bat ... keepers yell like banshees knowing the ball's brushed the pad ...
Money talks and as a consequence, sh!t happens ...

Welly well well. Some deep faecal matter from which the English need to extract themselves. 4-47.
