A good question. I think they're mostly old C4-ers. Bringing with them all the happy baggage from those halcyon days...
Re: How did you find out about the C4/Flaming Bails forums?
Can't think of many new recruits who new nothing of C4. Simkat, perhaps?

Actually, i think i can take credit (or otherwise) for the ABC invasion. I used to post on the old C4 (MK1) forum when you did'nt even need to register. I posted a cross link on both boards which resulted (amongst other things) in Laagan infesting the ABC board (sorry about that) but also ABCers became aware of an alternative board which was very handy when the ABC forum died.
Re: How did you find out about the C4/Flaming Bails forums?
Speaking of Laagan, and bets for a ashes resurection.

Re: How did you find out about the C4/Flaming Bails forums?
I found the C4 forum at the start of the English summer back in 1999.
I can't remember if I found it through the Channel 4 website or if it was already linked to cricinfo in those days.
I remember being on a semi-official messageboard for the 1999 World Cup which was a lot of fun. When the tournament finished and that messageboard closed I settled into the C4 forum permanently.
I'm still a fan of the way the forum was set up back in those days, with the exception of not having to register. A completely open forum had its benefits, but rampant "impostering" eventually put a stop to that.

We could have received massive discounts at all Harvey Norman stores.
We could have formed a syndicate to race Gold Edition's first foal.
But no. Skully & his crew chased him away & stuffed up any chance of that happening.

it was a bad thing...if wide wally totally breaks the stereotype of the average Queenslander...gabba dan reinforced it...i think it important that readers have a realistic impression about Chipville

Re: How did you find out about the C4/Flaming Bails forums?
I found the C4 forum at the end of 1999 - I think my first reply was from Hass, it wasn't as long as his usual epics (are you still doing these and ending your posts with Cheers?) I remember posting from an internet cafe in Cape Town when I went out there for the Millenium Tour - stayed on till about 2006 then drifted away a bit, good times were had, numerous trolls, lots of banter especially at about 2am when the Aussies got into their stride. Taipan told me about this forum on FB lst summer, about 3 days after my son was born so I've not really been able to come on much cos life has been hectic but hopefully things will get easier - until the next time anyway!
