What I liked, compared to when he 'burst' onto the scene, is that his action seems more upright, he's not falling away, therefore he seems to attack the stumps a bit better. As Lever said though, it was against Leics, who're gash-incarnate.

Yeah, he was 11 when he came over. Common theme! Can't bat like a Saffie though, coming in at 9.

I missed the Surrey match on the tele the other night, so I didn't get the chance to run the Dello rule (which is basically the accepted measure of quality) over him.
Not that you should really judge any bowler on a T20. Tremlett got smashed. But I'm pretty sure he's a reasonable bowler.
Meaker reminds me a bit of Flintoff in his action. Front on, hits the crease hard, possibly better than Jesus.

Are we going to get game on in Nottingham tomorrow?
Beeb weather is rather optimistically suggesting the majority of the widespread showers will fall around but not in Notts.

Contrary to the Monkey opinion, I felt he was falling away a little in his action but he was certainly nippy and was pitching it up mostly rather than being an 'enforcer' type.

Soon they'll all have nicknames - 'Attack Leader' Jimmy Anderson, 'The Enforcer' Stuart Broad.
All except Swann, maybe he can be 'The One That Actually Gets Wickets', but it doesn't have the same ring to it.

Not to mention, once again, "Form of his life" Ian Bell, "Goes through his routine" Jonathan Trott, "Starting to look like the old" Kevin Pietersen, "360 degrees cricketer" Eoin Morgan and "Steep bounce" Tremlett.

But he looked shite as anything on the tele the other day. Lost his pace. What's going on?
He plays for Gloucs. They don't allow any bowler to be anything other than a keeper up to the stumps, medium pace trundler. It's tradition.

If we're going to go on just averages, well we're back to selecting county dobbers again. Or Saj Mahmood.
I don't think it'd hurt to give guys like Gregory and Meaker a look-see.
Although I'd be worried Meaker would explode. He's a bit veiny.
Phurt. I nominated Meaker and Gregory as ones to watch before all of you.

This talk of weak bowling stocks may well be moot tonight as, a day-nighter on a cool, wet day-night, is bang up England's collective clacker.
Jimmy to clean up early doors, and T-Bone Timmy to lick the plate clean.
Broad will still remain wicketless. That's his specialist skill.

Saxleby's got a bit of nippage.

Vaughan on twitter: "Bell best position would be opening..And that's where he will probably end up but you cant change Cook/kieswetter after just 3 games.."
Unbelievable. It really is. Literally everyone who isn't on this forum has an Ian Bell blind spot.
It's like a global conspiracy or something.

Hmm, Bell opened in one of the T20s against Aus in the Winter and batted like God for a while. Didn't improvise, and looked to actually hit the ball rather than dab it.
You can't doubt that overall he's one of the best six batsmen in the country. It's just his mindset that needs changing in the shorter forms. Should he be in the ODI side right now? Probably not.

Trev, you nominated everyone before anybody. The simple fact is, a player only has to chew their gum in a certain way and you're popping out semen like a geyser.

An inbetweener, will only get really dark for the last 90 mins.
That's if they get any play today.

F*ck that. I can only assume we've given up on ever being a quality ODI side.
Bresnan- sh*t
Broad-sh*t.
And it's been like that for ages. Look at Bresnan's record in particular. Take out Bangladesh and one game against India, and his record is appalling.

It's all a bit too much for me, really. I get a bit bilious with anger. I'm pretending the team's not unchanged.

Welcome aboard the non-Bres-loving ship. You're six months too late. You don't get the free teapot.
Bell's sh!t, too, you know. I know you like the extra 4lbs of muscle he's put on, I know you like how he greases himself up with duck fat, I know you like the ever increasing snarl on his face. Check his stats.

I've always though Bresnan is sh!t in ODIs. In tests, he can be effective if the pitch suits him.
