sorry, this was in response to Trev's suggestion of Rahane and Sharma for Dravid and Laxman ... I've only just seen the post detailing Pattinson's injury

Pup making highest ever score by a captain on Aus soil
Pup and Punt breaking their own 4th wicket partnership record v India
Pup and Paris breaking 5th wicket record v India
Cot took his 100th Test wicket and 200th FC wicket
SRT didn't score his 100th international 100.
Feel free to add.
Plenty of bowlers brought up tons.

Worst match ever from a keeper in a winning team?

I mean, are you kidding me? Really? Are you being serious at this juncture? Absolutely incredible. Really.

Shame and double-shame. OP out, which is the hammer blow. But then Mini-Midge back in the squad. What about Rhino!

There wouldn't have been too many times a team lost one wicket whist scoring over 600 runs.

Are there any other Aus wicket keepers waiting in the wings?
Obviously I'd love Hadden to still be there next year though.

Tim Paine is the annointed replacement but is out injured. Matthew Wade is also pretty good and a shed load better than Haddin. But they won't pick him in case he does well which would mean they won't be able to get Paine in when fit.
I mean it is only India we are playing - we can probably carry a dud keeper

Apparently so! God knows what the score would have been had your keeper been able to keep.

All this waiting for Paine is silly because there is some chance his career is in jeopardy due to the finger injury. He's the anointed one but Wade is pretty good with the bat and gloves as well. He should be given a go and if Paine is fit again he should be promoted on merit.

Press reports are suggesting that Patto was going to be rested anyway at Perth so he's really only missing "one" test.
I think they may well going in with 4 quicks and leave any spin to Clarke.

Another inconvenient truth he's been slapped with. Trev has sooked off to the corner of his room, stroking his todger and sucking his thumb.

http://www.bcci.tv/bcci/bccitv/index/viewarticle?article=/media/releases/content/4f05654f33669.htmlIndia can take some solace from the fact that on the 24 previous occasions that a batsman has scored a triple hundred, his team has gone on to win the Test only eight times. This gives Australia only a 33.33 percent chances of forcing a win
A little bit of wishfull thinking there.

The Age is building an unfortunate reputation for excruciating, laboured, obscure headlines on the front of its Sport section but today's 'Who mastered the Little Master? CLARKE, OF COURSE!!' sets a new low for ham-fisted lack of wit.
(Did any paper go for 'taking the mickey' after MH and MC's stand?)
