he's a 21 year old and merely a work in progress.
Who called it dangerous? Some plonker.
It's starting to become a little more consistent, is all.

My apologies to PP. Not so much a 'plonker' as 'mesmerised by the speedgun'. Still rates Shoaib, apparently ...

Nope. I rate Aus' attack highly. I was simply using the well thought out and hilarious logic that some Aus posters used around 2008.

I don't know that he's mediocre. He certainly got in after performances that would merely have had players from other states 'on the selector's horizon', not in the team.
The media plays an influential part in selections.

Well, some awards people reckon that this was THE sporting event in the year in 2012 knocking off those Olympics thingys in some town in the UK.
Given that the Champions League final won the award in 2011, I am on a hattrick for the 2013. Hopefully it will be awarded to the Oval following a magnificent victory after following on by Australia which also capped a comeback from 2-0 down in the series. Or perhaps a packed Sydney Olympic Stadium in front of 85,000 people in all Red or all Gold where Israel Falou scores a length of the field try after the bell for Aust to win the game 39-38 and the series 2-1.

How can it be voted the sports event of the year when one team didn't even show up?

Meh. The Australian swim team didn't show up in London. And the other two nominees were Seppo events.

99% of sane people would agree that the Olympics was the sporting event of 2012, considering it was widely agreed they were the best Olympics ever.
