Nudging 6,000 in our worst month since last April's dismal 5,796. Last March featured the infamous but admirable Dello spamathon that got us over 10,000 posts for the first time in a long time.

how many people post here every day? Around 10 core? plus others who pop in and out, frequently, or less frequently, like me.

I don't think anything above 5000 is meagre! That's a lot of posting in one month, regardless of the record. And 'real' life.

4,460 was our nadir, Jilly, so your threshold number of 5,000 posts as "non-meagre" is reasonably fair.

At our peak, we were pumping out an average of 450 posts a day = approx 14,000 posts per month.

That is an incredible number. If you go with my 10, that's 45 posts a day each, although in those days, there must have been more like 15-20 people here each day, so more like 20 to 25 posts each.

Still, that's dedication.

When some of the hard core posters are on you've got to wonder what they do for a living and how you get a job like that. 100 a day wasn't uncommon.

100 posts a day would take out less of your day than your smoke breaks.

It's easy to make 50 posts a day if there's an overseas Test involving your team on overnight ...

Well, quick wits and the benefit of typing all the time helps. I've got one of the two.

It probably takes 10 seconds maximum to write a post, unless it's convoluted. Still, as I always say, you pay 50% of what you should and you get 50% of the worker. I'm utterly snowed under, but I'm also on cruise control.
