Between spitting out bits of pastry, Brenkley said he spoke to Flower who half-expects him to be fit but really isn't sure.

If there was any reasonable doubt I'm sure they would have had a backup in there though, unless the alternative is an all-seam attack?

Looks like showers for Thursday and Friday before fining up over the weekend.

Ought to be a pretty good series.

Possible, but the bold decision would be for Strauss and Flower to recognise that Bresnan has lost his nip since last year, and whilst he may provide a bit of lower order batting strength, his bowling should be handled pretty comfortably by South Africa if the pitch is a good one.
