Let A be the angle made by the floor and the 40 ft ladder, let B be the angle made the 60 ft ladder and the floor....
Let F be the distance from the the bottom of the 60 ft ladder and the point of intersection, let T be the distance from the bottom of the 40 ft ladder to the point of intersection
We attain the following equations
Tan A= 7/T
Cos A=(F+T)/40
Cos B= (F+T)/60
Tan A= 7/F
Little bit complicated....
