I kinda hope they rest Twatto and give Doolan a go - and he makes a big score!!
Then we could move the Twat down to no. 5 (when fit) and have Smitty at 6.

Shirley they'd have to replace an all rounder with an all rounder. Would be a shame if Watto did'nt play & they don't use Fork.

Dooly and the Dominator (that'd be Johnson) - I'm liking this team more and more....

We don't need a handy bat and useful bowler, we need a damned reliable no. 3, and I maintain that Twatto ain't that.

Aye, he pretty much admitted that he bats better when going for the tonk. You don't really want that in a #3 particularly when one of your openers is the farkwit so he will be coming in at 1 for not many most of the time

why is it when the poms start losing they start whinging.Henry wrote:Some people just don't have the gift of leadership. Ali Cook, for all his good qualities, isn't a good captain. It's not for him. The sooner England are honest about this, the sooner we can make progress and move on.
cook was good when he was winning yet he loses one series out of 6 you want to hang him from the rafters and tar and feather him. The aussies did that in previous tests look where it got them nowhere, now when they became cohesive they started winning, the same thing happened when the poms got their act together but jeez!! it didn't take long for that to fall apart and the whinging start.
mind you we still need to get rid of Watson.

he is even worse at no 5. least he stopped running team mates out. but he needs to go if he can't bowl.skully wrote:I kinda hope they rest Twatto and give Doolan a go - and he makes a big score!!

That's total revisionism. I don't remember anyone in this country saying Cook had a gift for captaincy even before this tour. When he was just ODI skipper, there was plenty of grumbling about his tactics. Or lack of them. It's been a constant bone of contention.
Unfortunately, when you play such a one-dimensional brand of cricket as England have under him (and the latter series of Strauss' reign), when the wheels come flying off and it becomes painfully apparent that you have no answers beyond a basic plan handed down from the number crunchers who've never played a game of cricket in their lives but can work a spreadsheet, people are going to ask questions about your suitability for the role.

....
ffs CT, one more time.
T-R-E-V _ I-S _ N-O-T _ "T-H-E _ P-O-M-S".
Have you got that yet?
btw: Is your real name TIm, by any chance? And have you had a surreal humour by-pass in the last few years?
Sing when you're winning, disappear tail between legs when there's a sign of defeat, sweepingly generalising "the Poms". Seems familiar ...

Ungrateful bastard. After all he's done for Oz!
Just because he's from Ipswich.

Why is it when Aussies start losing, a small minority (one actually) of their posters goes awol like a spoilt, pea-hearted, dim-witted no-mark.

Watto's determined to play in Sydney so it looks like Doolan will be biding his time. Hughes sent Doolan his best wishes saying he doesn't feel snubbed by the selectors!

Beam him! Or get Lee to bowl at him in a session break.
To think that this is the same player who had a mindless slog at 17/5 a couple of years ago....

Ian Ronald Bell MBE dashes off his latest piece:
http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/705511.html
I think I know what he means, but..
http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/705511.html
It is probably inevitable that after a tour like this there will be questions asked about our futures and the futures of our captain and coaches. After arriving in Australia full of hope and expectation, we have been badly beaten. There's no getting away from that.
All I can say is that in my ten years of playing for England, we have never had it so good.........
I think I know what he means, but..
