45.6Smith to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, drops this shorter, outside off, and Misbah blocks it into the covers
.45.5Smith to Misbah-ul-Haq, SIX, oh, my. This one was on middle and leg and he went down on one knee and slog-swept it over deep midwicket, into the grass banks. Biggest of his sixes so far
.45.4Smith to Misbah-ul-Haq, FOUR, nearly three in a row. Smith keeps tossing them up, and Misbah loves them there. This one he dragged slightly wider and it bounced just short of the rope
.45.3Smith to Misbah-ul-Haq, SIX, tossed up again, and he's hit it pretty much exactly to the same spot. Such a clean six-hitter, he is
.45.2Smith to Misbah-ul-Haq, SIX, tossed up outside off and Misbah accepts the invitation, launching it back over the bowler's head and over the long-off boundary
.45.1Smith to Azhar Ali, 1 run, low full-toss on leg stump, swept down to deep backward square leg
.
FFS...and another dropped catch

Misbah has a crack here at the quickest fifty in test cricket.

Misbah now has the fastest fifty in test cricket.
That is rubbing salt into the sores.
He does it off 21 balls.

This side must come into contention for the title of 'the worst to leave australia'.
Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd Test, Abu Dhabi, 30 October - 3 November, 2014
Nah, that was England when they flew out of Australia on January 8th this year.
Although some might argue that they never actually arrived IN Australia.

And Misbah equals Richards in terms of balls faced for a ton in test cricket. Think the declaration is imminent.

Well done Misbah. This abysmal tickerless Aust side deserves such a record to be scored against them.
Apparently* it's only the second time two batsmen from the same team have scored twin tons as well - the first being the Chappells 40 years ago.

I think the "fastest century for someone over 40" might be his for a while too...

Agree Crash and co. are commenting how long it's been since they have seen us dismembered in quite this way. They cannot remember the last time we chased 600 but wasn't it at Perth a few years back?

If a 40 year old can equal a 28 year old world record on this pitch then it has to be a draw, surely?

A few careers should end with this series.

I think we officially dropped more catches than we took this series.

Well they're saying batting for survival is achievable on this pitch but so far this series it's been a tale of two decks.
Considering we've been a great force in world cricket over the past few decades we've also had our share of records set against us.

Lucky we have Warner, Maxwell, Marsh and Haddin to dig in.

They're more likely to eyeing off Misbah's new records!

Certainly if Rogers fails here, he will probably go and his career at his age will be done and dusted. Recent history shows though that some of these guys get rotated through the team. Of course these days they hand out baggy greens like chocolates.

tbh, it was only last year in India. There wasn't an equivalent of today's slogathon, but the series is similar.Red wrote:JGK wrote:Well done Misbah. This abysmal tickerless Aust side deserves such a record to be scored against them.

Stunning innings by Misbah. Oldest man to score two centuries in a match?

I don't have the stats but if I were a betting man I would say Hobbs would be the best shout.
Edit: Doesn't look like it although I'm having to use another site as cricinfo isn't working.
