Shit man... Morgan got pinned on the back of the head. Hope he's ok - doesn't look it - and he's not one for fuss

Better he's exposed here in some JAMODIs rather than in the tests like Lyth was.
Who knows who should be Cook 's opening partner. There's plenty of people who have been tried and found wanting. In the last two years, Compton and Carberry have looked the best, but we know they won't be picked again.
We'll probably end up with Moeen as a stop-gap against Pakistan and then the 20th cab off the rank for the tour to South Africa, which begs the question - if Moeen opens against Pakistan and scores tuns like they're going out of fashion, do they cross their fingers and stick with him for South Africa?
If he makes runs in the UAE then why not? I don't know why people see it as so outrageous that Moeen could score runs at the top of the order in Pakistan. Sehwag did it. Warner did it. Why not Moeen?
Because they're openers and Moeen isn't?
Sehwag was a middle order player, and they took a punt on his an an opener. Made a hundred at Trent Bridge and didn't look back.
And it's not like Sehwag and Warner's techniques are any better than Moeen's.

Morgan takes one to the head. Could be in trouble.

Look at Starc's reaction - bad memories or what?

He should go off. He can always come back.

Wont stop him from bowling a bouncer next ball, though.

Nor should it.

Yeah he looked pretty devastated... He was just doing his job - the England boys said as much
Re: JAMODI series, England v Australia, August 31 - September 13, 2015
Regardless, Starc's reaction was one of distinct concern.
Throughout the episode, I noticed he did not take his eyes off Morgan.
And his conciliatory tap on Morgans shoulder with a few words of comfort as Morgs left the field,
was undoubtedly great to witness.

I assume sarcasm here.

Bairstow gone on review. Not a good game for the Umps so far.
Re: JAMODI series, England v Australia, August 31 - September 13, 2015
Jonny Knicks gets a fully... Still, surely we can trust our lower middle order to build an innings or two? Surely?
Re: JAMODI series, England v Australia, August 31 - September 13, 2015
Anyone catch Nick Knight seeming a bit pissed off at the Aussie commentator not linking to him there? Gave him a stern look and said "You should have handed over to me then".
Anyway, barring a miracle we aren't going to win this, just damage limitation from here. I assumed Willey had hit it due to him reviewing so quickly but maybe he's just our Watson.

Effectively 72/7. Bad times. Was funny to see Rob Bailey giving Willey out...
Re: JAMODI series, England v Australia, August 31 - September 13, 2015
Oh dear. If that should have been reviewed then I would not want to be Willy.

Doubtful - very similar to his dismissal - which I initially thought was pitching outside, probably dead too

Plumb, Willey literally survives.

Australia haven't bowled amazingly well, England have just batted dreadfully. Deciding game, and they have bottled it completely.

Seems a good pitch as well. I wonder how many overs Aus will take to knock it off.Henry wrote:Australia haven't bowled amazingly well, England have just batted dreadfully. Deciding game, and they have bottled it completely.

Any chance Morgan will bat? I guess he's under doctor's orders now.....

They'll be preparing the press conference sound bites already "Inexperienced team...can take a lot from this series, hopefully will learn from this...need to back the lads...."
At least we won the Ashes.

The England team bus has just been sighted coming off the M62. Should still be at the ground in time for the 2.00 start of this D/N match. Must have been a bad jam.
I hope Morgan's okay.
