gambhir is next in line for opener and he deserves it on the basis of his performances. i dont expect him to succeed but his understanding with sehwag will help and who knows, he may surprise us.

He is just a convert since last 2 years and not every convert is Sehwag you know!!

Re: Indian Cricket
Series will once again "test" the importance of coach Gary.
I have been saying since day 1 that hiring a coach (especially Gary) was a bad idea.

Fielding coach- R Singh.
Analyst- Don't know his name.
Batting- 4 men with loads of experience. The least experienced one out of the 4 has as many as 87 test matches.
Results were quite so i did NOT see any need for Gary Kirsten or any one else.It seems to me that they only got a coach to make people happy and to look "professional".

Re: Indian Cricket
Yep, I too get that feeling. We were doing alright in the absence of a regular coach. I think BCCI appointed a coach just for the sake of having one.
And as one former cricket opined that a coach is hardly of any help to batsmen of a team, particularly if they are experienced.
I think modern coaches are there more for their strategic inputs.

Re: Indian Cricket
Good news for Sharad Pawar haters. Jaggu Dalmiya won the Kolkotta Cricket Board elections again and has defeated Pawar's man to head the board. Lets hope he wins back BCCI again as well. Anyone is better than having Pawar-Modi-Shah at the helm.
