Yeah, I get that.

Actually the agenda bit was a tad stupid.  All people who control media outlets have an agenda.  Despite the denials of the people who work for them.

The Webb's used to call "The Boy Bevan'.

We have them to thank for Brisbane City Council.

Sydney and Beatrice Webb were key progressive proponents of the Greater London Council. They visited Oz on a speaking tour and strongly encouraged amalgamations of small urban councils to city sized Councils. They saw the GLC model as having economies of scale but high levels of responsiveness to constituents.

Parts of Qld inc Brisbane were quite progressive and Brisbane bit on the Webb ideas plus others and developed their own unique city wide Council.

Iirc the Webb's sent Bevan out to help and observe early implementation. The Webb's loved Bevan and used to publicly call him the "Boy Bevan''.

Gough used to say if he couldn't be PM he'd like to be Lord Mayor of Brisbane.  Near dictatorial powers over the seventh largest government in the country.

Was curator at the Gabba for years too, whilst Mayor even.  Put in the Gabba dog track to stick it up the racing crowd who were tight with Joh.

Thanks L and Q.

The dog track was a great idiosyncratic feature.

The Gabba is still a wonderful ground to watch cricket.

So, BoJo's latest Brexit plan looks a lot like May's plan.

The bigger qunt is Rees-Mogg who says he will support it having rejected it when May put it forward.

Done.

As I've said for a while, the only person who will come out of the sorry affair with any sort of integrity intact is Theresa May.

By the way, it is astonishing that GB could well have more incompetent and self-obsessed pollies than we do. That genuinely takes some doing.

DUP not supporting the current proposals.

I reckon Boris would still have a fighting chance of getting a bill through Parliament if he attached provision for a second referendum.
