Conveniently just after he found out it would give him a vaccine exemption.

Let’s not sugar coat it. He’s an arrogant, entitled, narcissistic, lying piece of shit.

Re: Australian Open Tennis
Apparently he was out and about at public events, without even a mask, at around the time he allegedly had Covid. So either he faked it (highly probable), or he was happy to spread it around like wildfire (which is a fair possibility in itself, given his self-organised Covid Cup in Eastern Europe at the height of the first wave…)

And the UK, France and US, so the big three remain fittingly all square on 20 each for all time?

He could be banned for a couple of years if he’s lied on his Visa application.

Still a nuclear button option available for the Aussie government, which would apparently lead to a 3-year ban from the country. And which one report suggested “could cost Australia the Australian Open”.

Re: Australian Open Tennis
It now emerges that Djokovic played tennis in Spain less than two weeks before he arrived in the country, but denied having been in overseas venues on his immigration entry form.
Obviously he didn’t get where he’s got by being nice ... but do we have to reward his narcissistic lying and arrogant contempt for Australian law and policy?
Mrs L has suggested a very 2022 solution, one that is delightfully and appropriately crass ... have a national Facebook poll to let him stay and play, or be ‘evicted’. He likely thinks he’s so popular he’d survive; it’d be fun to watch.

I'd certainly need to know exactly whose crayonship that 'report' is, and whose and what question it was scribbled together in response to, to have any idea how much GAF I can spare on that. I have been a regular patron of the AO for nearly as long as I have typed bullshit on cricket forums.
Lardy the result of that poll would swing on the unit of measurement votes were counted by: if 'one man one vote', taxi to Tulla for Mr Djokovich. If votes are calculated on decibels, like World Series Debating or the old Frank Muir & Denis Norton 'My Word', start putting his name on the winners' wall now.

Dunno if he has COVID but he'd blow the Density Limit standing in the middle of Melbourne Park on his own....he is definitely a few lace-holes short of a tennis shoe. Bernie, FFS put yourself out of all our miseries and retire and rant on the SBM, where behaving like a complete twat is 'normal'

Re: Australian Open Tennis
Can’t remember, just some idle speculation somewhere I guess. But the ATP won’t be happy with the Aussie government and if they’re forced to play the opening Grand Slam of the year without their number one player for the next three years I could imagine them saying we’ll move it to China for example…Fred Nerk wrote:beamer wrote:Still a nuclear button option available for the Aussie government, which would apparently lead to a 3-year ban from the country. Anyway, looks like Novax might have lied on his entry form about his travel history… is that the ammunition the government need to justify another move?

Well let's test the market - if Novak is ridden out on a rail and the final is Some Other Bloke v Some Other Other Bloke, let's see whether RLA is half empty and the TV coverage gets beaten by whatever bad Jim Carrey movie they show on the other commercial channel. Let's see what actually gets sucked down the Novak-shaped hole never to be recovered.

Re: Australian Open Tennis
Well, men’s tennis does need to move on from this unprecedented era of legends at some point. The flaky younger generations haven’t helped themselves… for some the moment may have already passed and they’ve been outlasted by the big three. Medvedev might be the first one who’s starting to look like the real deal but a few marketable stars and rivalries are needed.

not surprised, just wish he'd stop wasting our collective time and retire. that spot in qualifying could have gone to a more worthy participant instead
