Are Yuvraj and Dhoni overrated....?????
...in test cricket at least?
Jamodis and T20s, they are probably kings, on top of their games most times, But strangely the same consistency and confidence does not translate well in tests as batsmen? Can they be counted up on as mainstay players for the test team 5m years down the line?

I don't think Dhoni has middled a ball this whole tour.

Dhoni's glovework has been top class this tour, though. He was miles better than Gilchrist in the tests.

Dhoni failed to hit a half century in the whole test series despite the flat pitches. Will need to fire in the one dayers to prove his worth here to some extent.
Yuvraj at this juncture would appear to be only a decent limited overs batsman.

It's a miracle of God that I AGREE WITH YOU. This is a watermark day.taipan wrote:And when I suggested Dhoni was overated I was branded racist
I and Josh have always maintained he was a tad more than FTB. Rushing him into captaincy may make him too big for his shoes.
To me he is still 'Potential' material. Parthiv is far superior at the crease at test level over both Karthick and Dhoni. I think perhaps he should be eased into a middle order slot.
Or in SA and WI either [There was one 50 there of course, but the rest was all about reaching double figures]. Only good run was in England where the tracks were flat and most of our batting had a party.Henry wrote:I don't think Dhoni has middled a ball this whole tour.
Yuvraj is an enigma. All his test success in sub-continent. His first real 'Overseas' tour, but doesn't look like he knows where his off stump is. Even at home he is either too good in the whole series or just crap. He was pretty good in Pak 2004, in the first two tests in the middle order. Against Eng at home in 2006 in 2 tests, he was rock bottom.
Actually he has not had a complete series ever I think where he has been on trial for 3 or 4 tests total. But has runs of 2 tests per series and he has been either too good or just too crap. Consistency factor is a huge worry.
Once the likes of SRT, Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman are gone, Yuvi, Dhoni and Sehwag are automatic choices for experience and seniority. But all the three have a big record of inconsistency...
There are just no good replacements in sight otherwise.
I dread that the future of Indian Cricket as far as batting is concerned isn't too good. The way Pak team is at present may be where we are headed, much sooner than later I suppose.
Except Sachin and possibly Laxman, I don't think selectors will extend Dravid and Ganguly a year down the line.

Do you know any other position to f**k, Zat? I am bored of seeing you do it just one way.
Try some variety. Or try a real babe.

This post was made by Zat who is currently on your ignore list. Display this post.
I hate using the Ignore function but it beats watching a desperate pervert like Zat raping poor animals. Continue raping the animals stud. That’s all you are good for. I can't be bothered to watch your home videos again and again.

yuvrajs problem is also his strength in LOI - arrogance. its good having self belief but he needs to tone it down a notch and start grafting when he gets a chance.
dhoni is jekyll and hyde - his strike rate is either over a 100 or under 50. if he can keep up his keeping and average 30 with the bat in tests, that'd be perfectly acceptable imo. his batting has fallen away a bit in LOI since he got captaincy tbh

Are you serious Vikas?
Yuvraj played 3 tests vs SL (one full series) in 2005,3 tests (one full series) vs Pak in Jan-Feb 2006, then he wasn't fully fit for the first test at home vs England, but played the next two tests at Mohali and Bombay. Then he got to play all the 4 tests vs WI in May-June 2006. And then he twisted his knee during Champions trophy to be ruled out for the tour at SA.
So it tell me that he got to play 11 tests continuously spread over four series.
Still you say that he was not given a consistent run? Are 11 tests too little to test someone?
