Go the Shark. Leading at the turn on day 2. But I think his scarf will get ever tighter around his neck shortly.

Wahey, the Shark has negotiated his way into the easier back nine still in the lead. And the Met predicts the weather could turn foul this arvo.
Get in that Club House at a couple under, cuddle up to Chrissie, and watch some carnage unfold in sh!tful weather!!

And the great-great-grandson of the bloke the worst ever drink (with the worst ever ads) is named after?

Excellent round from the Shark. Except for the 6th, played a perfect round until the 17th. Then he scratched around like an old chook on the easiest hole on the course. Sunk a monster to only drop one shot. Then c0cked up a monster drive and slightly underclubbed 2nd with an absolutely sh!tful putt for birdie on the 18th that went 6 metres past the hole. Remarkably drained the putt to save par.
His current score of even par should be very close to giving him the lead going into the weekend.
Round of the day was by that crazy Colombian Camilo Villegas. Started bogey-bogey then managed 7 birdies including 5 straight from the 14th to 18th.

I can only presume he made a pact with the devil.
Seems that Parry is going OK as well.

Sandy Lyle walked in after 10 holes in the first round - this is the man btw with pretensions towards being Ryder Cup skipper. He can kiss that goodbye.

According to the Beeb, gusts of up to 46 mph can be expected this pm.
Plus 5 could win it!

Switched on to see "Golf: The Open" - live coverage from Royal Birkdale, on BBC1, but instead they're showing "Gary Lineker chats sh!t to Nick Faldo for an hour" - also featuring Kenny Dalglish and Alan Hansen.

Hehehe, ya gotta love John Daly. Wins Majors once in a while but mostly plays like a weekend hacker.Basil wrote:JKLever wrote:Lee Westwood +14

As a weekend hacker myself, i'd love to be able to hit the ball 350 yards....

Actually, they are talking about the possibility of suspending play because the balls are getting blown off the greens as players are getting ready to putt.

Blowing like a bar steward.
Stationery balls have been oscillating on the greens, making it virtually impossible to putt - particularly on the 11th (I think) which is particularly exposed and most of the leaders have been taking double and triple bogeys.
May have eased a touch over the last half hour, as there's one or two birdies starting to reappear, but I've never seen such difficult scoring I don't think.
Certainly been more interesting than the cack-a-lack unfolding at Headingley.

Greg Norman back into an outright lead.
I'd like to see Poulter come from a few back to win it tomorrow, but what a great story that would be if the 53yo Norman could clinch another major - would make him the oldest major winner I believe.

Norman with a 2 shot lead going into the last round.
Amazing stuff - how long is it since his last major?

Sheeeet we all knew that Chris Evert was talented. I guess that statement will be tested overnight.

Would be a great story but you can't help but feel it is going to end in tears all over again.
