I've got a headache, and I'm shivering to - sheeiite! I've got swine flu. The "several" pints I've had tonight can only be a co-incidence.
Ah well, it was a good knock - farewell to all my mates on here - looks like I'm a gonner.

You're avatar would suggest you're not exactly in top form!
First death in the US from the outbreak.
23 month old child apparently.
Having a young 'un myself for the first time I think I'm probably a little more concerned, and certainly taking on board far more information about this than I would have done at any other time.

Re: Pandemic
Anyone know why Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are taking such a prominent role in co-ordinating the global response to this outbreak?

Despite research to the contrary. Link. Click here ---> * <---
From the story
a study at the University of NSW suggests they may be effective. It found adults who wore masks were four times more likely to be protected against respiratory viruses, including influenza, than those who did not.
"If a pandemic arrives in Australia masks are one of the effective strategies that can protect people," Professor Raina MacIntyre said.
But participants in the study wore two kinds of masks and the results did not differentiate between the effectiveness of each: the ubiquitous cheap surgical masks and the more expensive fitted respirator masks known as P2 masks.
But then again Trev, it is Australian research, so you may choose to rubbish it. As you seem to with everything else from Aus.
