FFS! As most members represent seats where it's about a five buck cabfare to get out the electorate and at least three of the others represent elctorates the size of Europe where did a uniform amount of $90.00 come from?

When I visit the Mum, I open the pantry cupboard and see this row of canned spaghetti and baked beans and think "this is truly farked up the @rse". So I enjoy treating the old cheese to dinner and anything else I can do for her.

She was distressed when I visited last weekend because her Home and Contents insurance (APIA FFS) had gone up $150 and she had no idea how she was gonna pay it. 3 phone calls later I had got her a new policy $160 cheaper. It made her day.

That Home and Contents stuff is the latest rort from insurance companies. They're putting all premiums up across the board (they're all doing it BTW) because of our run of natural disasters. If you basically jack up point out that you live in a low risk area and aren't minding the neighbour's Cullen Diamond whilst they're on holidays, they normally (and very sheepishly) back down.

While I don't appreciate being bracketed with bucky, Peter is right. You do need to be able to joke about really shitty things or you risk going mad.
