Re: Formula One World Championship
Channel Nein's 6pm amateur variety and cross-promotion half-hour were calling it a disaster, saying Webber 'must win', that 'there are heaps of Aussies who've made the trip to Abu Dhabi' (disregrding that a lot of Aussies actually live and work there) and that if he did he'd be Australia's first F1 World Champion in 'about 30 years'.
But then again, their reporter wasn't a sports journo, just some bimbo...

I know he's an Aussie, and in general they are despicable people, but Mark Webber seems like an exception, and I hope he can produce a miracle to get up tonight.

And Trev manages to overtake horrie in the bitterness stakes.
Why don't you move back to the Utopia that you seem to have England down as? Or somewhere, indeed anywhere, else if you hate Australia so mcuh?

Surely you were going to have a late night anyway to watch Timmy vs the Arse.

Vettel deserves this championship, will be a shame if he misses out.

Re: Formula One World Championship
So where's Wally - I mean Webber? Did he have a pimple on his big chin that needed attention from the pit crew? Looks like Vettel has this in the bag.

Re: Formula One World Championship
PMSL at Alonso giving Petrov the finger, what does he expect, people to just move out of the way and gift him the title?
Well seeing what his teamate did for him earlier in the season, perhaps that is what he expects!

Re: Formula One World Championship
'Twas Webber's pit stop wot won it.
Ferrari thought they had to match him not considering that they wouldn't finish in the top 4. If Webber had stayed out, Alonso would have as well.

Indeed. Assuming it wasn't a faux fist shake, if Alonso couldn't get past Petrov he was hardly likely to get past Rosberg and Kubica.

What was the theory behind Webber's early pitstop and Vettel holding on?

A bit of team play for Red Bull. Of of the strategies was the right one so they were covered. Ferrari had to toss a coin, which they did and lost.

Webber- Probably his last chance to win the title gone. At 34, he wont get any better from here, and he wont be with Red Bull next season.
Vettel, Hamilton, Button, and Alonso- Hard to split them as drivers.

Re: Formula One World Championship
Just before the safety car came off today after the Schumacher crash, Vettel suddenly slammed on his breaks, and Hamilton briefly overtook him as he wasn't expecting Vettel's sudden loss of speed, then Hamilton was forced to hit his own breaks (as you can't overtake whilst the safety car is out), and straight after that the safety car came off and Vettel sped away again, and Hamilton had no momentum as he'd just hit his brakes to stay behind Vettel
Surely Vettel isn't allowed to do that?
