Re: Formula One World Championship
Vettel - a deserving world champion, he won more races than anyone else during the year, and had to genuinely race his team mate all yera as well.
Having said that, I wonder how different things may have been had the Kraut not wiped himself and Webber out at the Turkish GP.

Nice tits Trev.Henry wrote:Webber- Probably his last chance to win the title gone. At 34, he wont get any better from here, and he wont be with Red Bull next season.
Stories that contradict that have been doing the rounds for weeks. And from the BBC:
on Sunday he was gracious in defeat, praised Vettel and Red Bull - who also won the constructors' championship - and turned his attention to the 2011 season.
When asked if he would definitely be at Red Bull this time next year, he replied: "Yes."

Ifs, buts and rabies.
Hamilton had three or four catastophic DNFs from big point-scoring positions. Reckon he pissed a good 30-40 away. Lost the title by 16 points. In the third quickest car.

OK, someone take Webber quietly to one side and say 'As long as you;re a formula one driver, you don't even think about getting back on a mountain bike.'

FFS, watching Webber start is like watching Shaq take free throws. HTF aren't you any better at starting than you are? You get paid millions of dollars a year to do it.

Must admit I laughed out loud when he fluffed his start yet again.
I wonder if there's a statistic for the cumulative number of places lost between the start and the second corner over a career - I reckon Webber would be in a league of his own.
Re: Formula One World Championship
Bit of an uneventful race otherwise.
I don't find it that interesting watching everyone tiptoe around, desperately trying to protect their tyres, which is what F1 is becoming.

Re: Formula One World Championship
Yeah, give us rain, pile-ups and unreliable cars. It is a bit dull when all but 2 or 3 of the cars finish, it should be attritional and push the cars to breaking point as it used to.
Good to see evidence that it might not be a Vettel procession though. And Lewis's move doesn't look too bad right now, with the McLarens stranded in midfield where many expected the Mercedes to be.

Just read about it.
What an utter thunderqunt. And how lame was the "Mark should have won" apology afterwards.

Hamilton might not have have wasted fuel trying to win if he was at risk of his team mate over taking.
Similarly, the Red Bull drivers were told they could race until the final pit stop but then save their engines for the rest of the race (given that they were 1,2).

Re: Formula One World Championship
yes. but this is racing. why are they so worried about saving fuel/tyres/engines/etc. whatever happened to the individual pursuit for victory? can you imagine senna or prost refusing to race each other because the other guy has a little less fuel?
i can imagine the team wanting to maximise their points. but people dont watch racing to see a procession after just 70% of the race is done. F1 is shooting itself in the foot with these team orders, especially so early in the season, where there is no clear leader and points are not as crucial as when the title race gets down to the wire

Except that it isn't really a single race, it is a season long event. Not scoring in one race could mean you don't win.
I know what you are saying and if there was no title as such and just a multitude of individual races, you would get better racing.
Alternatively, make the points gap from 1 to 2 even bigger.

Shows the mistake of scrapping refuelling stops really. Fuel conservation becomes an issue mid-race instead of having the opportunity for a "splash and dash" stop in the closing laps if absolutely necessary.
