seduced by the idea of Irfan as an allrounder but his bowling is so far beyond gash it practically comes out of his mouth.

We missed Sehwag and neither Rohit or GG were able to really perform as expected.

Re: Who will be cricket's Next Big Thing?
I would choose 3 West Indian youngsters, 2 of which I'm postive will be World Class and 1 whom is a bit of a wildcard.
Adrian Barath - 19, first Windian since Shiv to average 50ish in FC cricket (in the Caribbean that is an awesome achievement because the standard of umpiring is disgraceful). Will be making his debut against Bangladesh in July.
Darren Bravo - 20, Dwayne's half-brother, related to BCL and bats exactly like the young Lara before his jump across the crease started. He is the most stylish batsman in the Caribbean already, averaged 50 in FC cricket this year, dominated the WIPA 20-20 tournament and has been scoring hundreds galore in club cricket.
Gavin Wallace - 24, Big ripping leg spinner with a fantastically deceptive googly. Took lots of wickets cheaply this year. Took 3 expensive wickets in the tour match against England where he looked a bit raw, but he bowled Strauss with a Warne style leggie that pitched wel outside the off stump.

Yes I would pick him now tbh though they seem to prefer Suliemann Benn and his darts.

ODI's and 20-20's he is a good choice. But in tests he has only done the job on a raging turner, he has been found out everywhere else.

You do worry about the ability of the West Indies cricket set up to properly develop a good young leggie.
Maybe he should move to NSW.

IND and PAK have performed much better than SA in the last 5 yearsHenry wrote:South Africa and India are producing the best young players. Pakistan and the Windies always seem to produce talented youngsters as well. The dominance both India and South Africa have had at at under 19 level over the last 5 years is starting to be reflected in senior cricket.

AB could keep and you could get another batsman in.
I think Siddle should be in that side as well though.

There is lots of raw fast bowling talent in Roach, Pascal, Gabriel, Ruel Braithwaite, Brandon Bess, Kevin McClean etc, i'ts just that none of them have made an impression quite like the 3 I mentioned.

Actually I looked at his profile on cricwotsit just yesterday Though I am sad enough to recall most tests England have played, so I did know when he made his debut - a shocker if I recall.

Top of my head, NZ.
Dropped a few behind the sticks, scored some solid 20s and 40s on the tour.
Went to India.
