Did I hear right - Fergie agreeing with a referee's decision?
"No question aboot it: Gary Neville should have been sent off.."
Well, I suppose they did win, and he hardly plays Neville anyway so he's clearly not arsed.

Looks good on the c/v at the forthcoming FA hearing, Jont !
I see Roberto Martinez (Wigan) has laid into Fergie and into what he calls Fergie's "loyalists" Bruce and Allardyce ...
"Ferguson has his group of loyalists, Steve Bruce who has played for him and Sam Allardyce who thinks he will be his successor at Old Trafford ...
They (the FA) would have hammered anyone else (re. the jock's comments about Wiley's fitness) ... He (Ferguson) has a lot of control in this country.
Welcome to the Premier League's other 19 club's dug-out's Roberto ...
Amusing take from Martinez, seeing that last year he was strongly fancied to take over from Quoiroz's as Asst manager to the jock.

Good old Martinez! Not doing a bad job so far at Wigan, either - looks a tidy side from what I've seen.

Gotta love Martinez. Was a Wigan boy when you Prem tossers hadn't even heard of Wigan.

That would be hellish. But as it turns out, it's even more of a hellish place.

He even admitted that Liverpool were the better side on Sunday.
Luckily the scum supporters pitched in to remind us what low lifes they really are

Six of the current top seven have made it through, even though often playing under-strength teams - I guess a lot of the lesser teams do that as well though these days, and the gap between second string teams is bigger than the gap between first teams!
Chances are the sides will be stronger for the remainder of the competition, it's a trophy after all which one or two teams are long overdue.

Arsenal all over the Hotspurts ... could so easily have been 5 - 0 had Eduardo taken his two chances.
Fabrege's solo goal was a classic .... hit them quick when the oppo's are still dazed from the previous goal!
GD +19 after just 10 games!
Neat.

Nah, I think the struggles have actually bonded most of the fans with Keane as they can see the effort has been there. We're celebrating a 1-0 win like we've just won the European cup apparently.
We're gonna win the leag......... etc

Well, Readings absurd 2009 continues.
League record Since the end of January:
Home
Pl 16 W 0 D 6 L 10 GF 5 GA 19
Away
Pl 16 W 7 D 5 L 4 GF 23 GA 21
Reading scored the same number of goals at Coventry yesterday as they've scored in total at home since the 10th of March. If they were a horse they'd beshot dope tested.

I reckon Liverpool will have to win the Champions League if Benitez wants to be their manager beyond this season.

Re: The Football Thread - 09/10
I hate international breaks. I don't think we have a single international player, maybe Radoslaw Majewski with the Poland u23s (what's the point of that?). I just want some proper football instead of this dour international rubbish. Thankfully, this is the last one until early next year. There's probably an argument that it's well-timed with our side looking a bit tired. But eight games unbeaten and up to 8th - we don't wanna stop that momentum. The Championship looks a decent league this season though Newcastle are pulling away despite not being that impressive. Shows what a wage bill five times bigger than the next club in the league does for you.
