Wouldn't put it past them - but if there was one side you could hand-pick to face at home, needing a win to clinch the title, I'd reckon Wigan would feature highly in most team's list of preferred choices.

They've got nowt to play for, are shit at the best of times, and terrible on the road. And they have Titus Bramble in defence. It's a heck of a combination of craptitude.

At least Wigan try to play football. The more direct teams such as Stoke and Sunderland are the ones who have really struggled against Chelsea, the footballing teams like Man City, Spurs, and even Wigan have turned them over this year.

Wishful thinking though, I think Chelsea will win by 2 goals.

Except they also marmalised Villa, and they're not a long-ball, direct side. Oh no. Martin O'Neill jumps up and down like a gibbon if anyone should proffer such a slur.

Right, so that's Pompey, Hull and Burnley through the relegation trapdoor then. My money's on none of them making the return journey next season.

Three defeats and a draw in Arsenal's last four games. Nicely choked, from a position of being in title contention.

And Wenger's only talking about making one of two signings as he think the team's in good shape.

Good luck with that, Gooners...

Just as well I'm not a "think I'll slash my wrists or bash up a few pregnant ladies when we are losing" style Arse supporter. Cool

I think at least one of them will be heading for League One. Great opportunity for a lot of teams in the Championship next season.

Regarding Arsenal - one win in eight, and that was an injury time winner at home to Wolves. Spurs could still catch them for third. Fair enough they're missing Fabregas and their first choice keeper and centre-backs but they need major strengthening or they might be competing with Liverpool and a couple of others for fourth next season.

Reading must have a chance judging from the way they finished this season.

re: arsenal, theyve just capitulated since they have nothing to play for. shame since it had been a season of improvement thus far. not sure whether you can read too much into it though.

thats mancini gone then. mourinho? or is he off to madrid?

tbh, spurs are a better side and have deserved it over the season.

plus it enhances the gunners chances of signing buffon. i wish.

No chance that Mourinho will go to a non-champions league side. Weirdly enough I think if Mancini did get them to 4th then Mourinho may have ended up there over the summer.

It really was a marvelous performance. Other than a long shot by Tevez I can't even remember a half chance that city created after the goal, Tottenham still looked the more likely to score.

'twas indeed a deserved win by Spurs vilky, but given Spurs record for the past two decades, can you blame my pessimism before an incredulity now?

Worth getting up at 5am for it.
