Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
Lampard goes down in the box, Caldwell gets red carded.
LLL is going into euphoria!
And Lampard scores the pen.

Chelsea get a penalty & Wigan lose a player.
Chelsea 2 Wigan 0
Chelsea 2 Wigan 0

And the real Spurs we all know and love finally make an appearance: Burnley 3-2 Spuds, from 2-0 down...
Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
Sure isn't Champions League material at the Tottenham game.

Chelsea score seven for the fourth time this season. Can't argue with that.

Wouldn't have thought Martinez will last the summer. His Wigan side have narrowly survived during a season where they've shipped NINE and EIGHT in matches.
Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
I guess there won't be a huge fuss about fulham playing a 3rd string team, if the fa was fair and consistent they should get fined.

Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
The bigger issue is: have I won the fantasy league?
Somehow, I managed to scrape to within about 40 points of Tom going into this final round. My boys Lampard and Drogba have done me proud.
But I've got a feeling I forgot to take Titus Bramble out of the XI, so that could be what sinks my battleship in the final tally.
A moral victory, then.

As expected, the fantasy site is down.

They have got 10 games to work out. They'll be up to speed inside the hour.
Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
I'm guessing I hung on what with having Drogba as captain and all. In fact I'm so confident I'm calling the result now. In you face Dello and everyone else...I am the master!
Dreadful premiership season- won by filthy Russian cash, John Terry & Ashley Cole and Wigan, Wolves & West Ham would have all been relegated in a better world.

Oh, you cheated again by making a striker captain.
That's one of those phallic victories. Pharaoh victories? Richard Pyrah victories?
Shitty cheating victory, anyway.

It's Pyrrhic victory, it's Greek.
And Leeds are still going up.

Phurt! Given that the players were probably still drunk after qualifying for Europe, and Arsenal weren't going to lose 3rd spot, it was an immaterial result.DJ_Smerk wrote:Sure isn't Champions League material at the Tottenham game.
Spurs will save a real collapse for when it matters. In the last ten minutes of their ECL knockout match next season.

Congrats to Chelsea on winning the EPL (8-0 - suck on that all you Scum grubs ), to The Arse on securing 3rd and to Cardiff (and Smerkle) on taking the first leg of the Championship play-off game.

FFS, the man who's first thought after missing in a penalty shootout for England was "at least it wasn't Liverpool" gets recalled for England. F*cking c*nt.

No one else out there now that Barry's f**ked, Vilks.
My one concern would be his tackling in the box ... FIFA referees wouldn't let him touch, let alone hack at, an oppo player without whistling up for a penalty!
Other than that, he's a good choice IMO.

I'm not denying his skill, but I'd rather not have the qunt playing for England when he clearly isn't worthy of the honour.

Re: The Football Thread - 09/10 (III)
True .... but when has "honour" ever played a part in team selection.
I guess Fabio's going along with the option of "Needs Must" by picking the neanderthal!
