Corbyn again will run dead in the campaign. That is what makes him untenable.

Second referendum isn't my argument. Corbyn suddenly jumping tracks to protect his position is.
There may not be a majority for a second referendum. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think enough Tories will vote for it and a handful of Labour MP's will certainly vote against it.

Still not my point. The unprincipled qunt is.

He has principles, but none of them will be sufficient to get him elected. There just isn't the stomach for his kind of authoritarian socialism in this country. On the subject of  the second referendum vote, you're probably right. I suspect that his calculation is that such a motion has little chance of success.

Another little story about Corbyn: when interviewed by Sky last week, he said that claims of bullying and anti-semitism were over-stated. The deputy leader was interviewed yesterday and said that he had passed 50 documented accusations of anti-semitism to Corbyn during the course of the previous week alone.

Tom Watson is one of the few things the Labour Party has going for it at the moment. Seemingly the person holding back a flood of defections, taking the views of all sides seriously and telling it as it is.

That’s the Yanks’ argument... “The Nazis were socialist, they had ‘socialist’ in their name”. Yeah, and the People’s Democratic Republic of (North) Korea has ‘democratic’ in its name...

This is is the government's forecast for a no deal scenario as per The Guardian this evening:

The economy would be 6%-9% smaller over the next 15 years than it otherwise might have been, in the event of no deal, in line with Bank of England forecasts.

The flow of goods through Dover would be “very significantly reduced for months”.

With 30% of food coming from the EU, prices are likely to increase and there is a risk that panic buying might create shortages.

Only six of the 40 planned international trade agreements have been signed.

Meanwhile here is an interesting article examining a small number of the social and health problems posed by the lack of a backstop on the Irish border.

The EU won’t give us another extension beyond June due to us not participating in the elections. A three month delay isn’t going to build consensus on any way forward. So this move is replacing a possible no deal exit in March with a probable no deal exit in June.

Labour still trying to duck anti-semitism charges

The sad part is that the likes of Vilks don't believe it.

I shall be surprised if there aren't more resignations from the parliamentary party.

Both major parties are being hijacked by extremists behind the scenes, with leadership powerless or not inclined to do anything about it, and a political system that ensures they will be the main two parties pretty much whatever happens to them.

Might as well just ask people on the ballot paper at the next election which particular religion/ethnic group they want to discriminate against.

So, it's like this: there are now meaningful legal assurances in place regarding the NI backstop, which the pm will bring to a meaningful vote tomorrow.

What odds May is shown a meaningful finger tomorrow in the H of C, and we end up in a meaningful crock of shoite?
