Re: Shane Watson
Surely the fact that jaxter likes Watson only points to jaxter being Watson or his mum?

Re: Shane Watson
Erm, the fact that he's hawking Superbowl packages via his sig says it all. I think 4 or 5 of the most recent registrations have had dodgy sigs linked to some commercial hawking deal.
Qunts. Fark off with ya spam.
As I said earlier, I hope Fromage is keeping a close eye on these farkers.

Damn straight!!! Mick Sawyer (FBRIP) nagged me for a long time, and after a good series v the Wackies, I weakened for a moment and actually rated the prick for a heartbeat. But normal service has resumed.

Re: Shane Watson
I think he could've been a far better batsman if he'd not been crocked all the time. While others were padding up their averages against India at home, twatto was in the infirmary, again in the South Africa series where the first two pitches were SSC flat. His OTT attitude on the field suggests to me a lack of self confidence rather than being overconfident and he seems shot nowadays. That's likely proper bullshit, but Twatto seemed far more assured when he toured India in 2010 than when he did this year.

Perhaps he responds better when expectations are not high?

Re: Shane Watson
Maybe, but he was one of the better batsmen then when, iirc, Hussey and Ponting weren't really on their top form.

Re: Shane Watson
For someone of his talent to have only two tons is pretty criminal IMO. His bowling is reasonable, but not crucial to Australia - one wonders how he'd have got on purely as a batsman.
Seems a bit of a dick though.

However, Chiv Augustus sums up the situation best, a little earlier in the thread.

Just as an aside i saw "The Water Diviner" earlier today and Crowe has a shot at Murali in it.

Well indirectly and perhaps I'm drawing a long bow, but chucking definately comes into it, and most of the audience pissed themselves laughing.

Chivalry Augustus wrote:Shane Watson looks wrong. He's like a jigsaw that has been forced together by a Homer Simpson. Or into a Homer Simpson. In fact, he looks like Homer Simpson with hair who has lost weight and got a six-pack. That's Shane Watson in a nutshell. Plus he plays cricket in the same way. Like a retard who has drank loads of Duff but every now and again kind of does something.
Oh, and he's a c*ck and I hope he dies.
I'm not sure about all the above, but on his 'failure of conversion' stats:
Just 4 of his 28 50's have been centuries as has been well documented.
I can find only two Australian 'batsmen' with similar, if not quite so bad, conversion stats:
Watson 4 of 28
Healy 4 of 26
Haddin 4 of 22
The only player I can find with a similarly disappointing ratio, and it's not quite in the same ballpark, is Redders' 8 from 39.
He's been a major disappointment, given the obvious talent.

plus Healy and Haddin were/are keepers and would have lost their wicket many times in the pursuit of quick runs ahead of a declaration.
Maybe the level of potential was overblown and perhaps he was never as talented as thought.
