No farking way. He will get the crap bounced out of him. I'd prefer Ferguson.

I'd prefer Butterworth ... you may have heard of him

His reputation was made by Huaritz.

Hughes looked more solid in this innings. The pitch has flattened out a lot though, and there's no real quick bowler to bombard his ribs.

Re: Australia A v England, Hobart, November 17-20
Tremlett for Finn, perhaps? Or....Tremlett for Anderson?

Had to laugh at Tiny Grigg on Finn: "At least, unlike Harmison, he's not a big sook".

Tremors!!!
Couldn't have gone much better for England this warm up. All the bowlers have looked like they could step up to the plate if asked.
Just wished Monty would look a bit more threatening.

I reckon at this stage Tremlett would be a more consistent option for Brisbane than Finn. He's more the finished article. They'll still probably go with finn, though.

Tremlett certainly back in the reckoning as far as England are concerned. Probably knee-jerking but wouldn't mind if the green Finn goes down with a temperature on the morning of the 1st test

Ah, same thoughts. Wouldn't be surprised if Tremlett is in by the 2nd test however, guess it depends on if we turn up or not at the Gabba.

It's good to hear Peter Newlinds commentating on the radio on this game. He used to post on the ABC Forum.

He's the "containing" bowler now.
On the other hand, if he put on that leftover Hallowe'en mask ....

Tremlett really showing some form?
Or is he knocking down tossers?

Not going to happen. Was a lousy choice for the tour - his game hasn't improved in the slightest (well, not his bowling anyway) since he was dropped. In fact he's been "going back to basics" since England's attempts at teaching him a few more advanced bowling moves met with a stubborn beard of resistance.
Trouble is, the "basics" he's gone back to are those of a limited bowler who doesn't spin the ball.
Yay.
Re: Australia A v England, Hobart, November 17-20
I can't decide if Monty isn't ripping it as much these days or if it's just the pitch.

Bowled a really good spell, the ball to get Smith was a beauty, cut back a mile to hit off stump.
He also smacked O'Keefe on the helmet and surprised Hughes with a bit of extra bounce.

Get him in the Test XI
