Re: Sacked!
Should've never had the job in the first place.
As the possibly made up saying goes: If you build a house out of shit, all you end up with is a shit house. That smells of shit. And is generally shitty as it's made of shit.

Good.
Though there's no way Bookies favourites Mourinho will take the job.
And why would someone like Wenger take the job? His hands would be tied... he'd be lumbered with a bunch of technically deficient superstars.

THe UK media only have themselves to blame. WTF would want the job unless they were getting paid far more than they were worth.

They always talk up the big name managers first, before getting real when it dawns on them that no-one with any kind of ambition is going to leave the higher echelons of club football to be a part-time manager, and settling for either some old duffer for "one last crack at the big time", or a middle-of-the-road no-mark who has already reached the ceiling his mediocre ability will afford him in club football (about 16th in the Premier League) and fancies earning a couple of million quid and pretending to be something special for a year or two.
Paul Jewell? Sam Allardyce? Stuart Pearce? Ash Ighthouse?

Re: Sacked!
Steve Coppell, would be my choice!
Glad to see him go. Just a bit of the shame the board didn't vote for sacking themselves, as they are the useless Farkers who employed the useless Farker in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Sacked!
You can't polish a turd, though.
I knew England would lose once I saw the pitch was a bit muddy.
The paucity of even basic technical ability among English players is so depressing it's almost funny. How can you possibly be in a job where you earn 50 grand a week yet unable to manage the simplest things that, in this case, guys earning less than 50 grand a year were able to achieve effortlessly?
Croatia adapted to the marginally tricky playing conditions with ease.
England looked like they were playing with a hand grenade.
And if you've seen the under 21s lately, you'll know that there's nothing coming through the system that's any cause for hope.
It's not like English people are genetically incapable of being technically excellent footballers, it just that technique doesn't appear to be a much valued attribute among those who teach and develop kids in this country.
Even today, watching Sky Sports News, hardly any of the disgruntled fans and 'experts' have mentioned it - they're still banging on about "passion" and "heart" as if the finer nuances of winning football can all be barged aside in an orgy of "up and at them" chest-beating and simply trying harder.
As usual, as the world has moved on and developed, England are still stuck with their heads up their collective arses, sticking to good old plan A, drawn up in 1888.

And he has always bought in players - from abroad.
I'm a big fan of Harry, but he's a chequebook manager.
Re: Sacked!
Aye, who then?
Wanted:
1 manger who can make something out of a shithouse bunch of players.

Re: Sacked!
Thing is, Steve Coppell's so miserable, being England coach might be the thing that finally tips him over the edge.
Say what you like about England managers, but I wouldn't want to see one of them blow his brains out with a Glock in the middle of a "grilling" by Garth Crooks.
Or would I...?

Or maybe they could just use the Glock or Baretta on Garth Crooks!!!!
that would be ok I think.

Knock yourself out.
Obviously if you then receive a seven-figure book deal as a result of your lucid, insightful and witty musings, I'll hunt you down like a dog...
